I mean as soon as she pulled the gun he had the chance to back off, she gave him a chance and he kept pursuing her aggressively. Classic case of FAFO.

Looking at the complete lack of downvotes you'd think we weren't a bunch of racist nazis or something and actually don't care about her skin color.
Weird.
Weird.

I cared enough to waste 5 seconds of my time. That’s not a lot of caring but maybe more than you’re used to?
My post didn’t do anything. Your post called your character into question and you keep reinforcing it with every response.
Bring some awareness to it, sit with it, and maybe evolve a little.

So the precedent is if you say the n word to someone, they show zero impulse control, become enraged and walk towards you, you can use deadly force to defend yourself? Am I understanding that correctly?

Totally different. Tray confronted Zimmerman as he was walking back to his car and was on top of him smashing Zimmerman head against the concrete. How do I know tray confronted him? When Zim initially chased him, tray ran away from him and Zim said to 911 dispatch that he got away. Fat Hispanic not gonna catch a skinny black teen in a foot race. That's how I know tray came back and confronted Zim because the only way you gonna catch black teen is if he let's you catch him.

But you still haven't pointed out what it is about my character that you're judging me for. How do I know what I'm reinforcing if you're not brave enough to tell me?
How did my post say anything at all about my character?

Zero problem with that ruling.

I remember this video. Yeah she was justified

This case, I honestly thought when she retreated to safety and then came back with a firearm she would have lost the stand your ground argument. It will be interesting in the future what cases will argue this decision as precedent. In this situation, I don't have an issue with the decision. I just don't like the precedent of retreating to safety in a public area and then returning to the confrontation and having this applied in the broader scope. Potential for some lenient judges or DA's to let people off where the cases are much further from the grey than this one.
I agree.
To me this means that if someone threatens me in a public space, I can go to my car retrieve my gun, then return to continue the confrontation, and when the other person predictably does anything threatening, I’m within my rights to shoot them.
There are A LOT of videos online of people behaving similarly belligerent. Think of the crowd of Anthony supporters outside the courthouse when the verdict was handed down. The old white guy, who was surrounded, could have gunned them and claimed he was at fear for his life. And one of the most aggressive guys out there that day WAS armed.
I think this sets a bad precedent and lowered the bar for self defense. Basically, the moment I feel threatened I can kill someone now matter the role I may have played in instigating the altercation.

Florida doesn't have a duty to retreat. I think only a handful of states have that at this point (Kentucky doesn't have a duty to retreat/de-escalate either).
In her case I would argue, since the guy basically laid in wait for her to come back out of the store, that she had reason to believe he might attempt to follow her home and continue to pursue.

This. Most people are agreeing she was justified. What you don't see is blind loyalty to the guy getting shot. Media isn't talking ad nauseam about racism. There is no rioting, no protesting, no looting. Celebrities aren't tweeting about lack of justice. Gofundme hasn't been started to pay for his family's legal fund or college educations for his kids. It's mind blowing.

Ok, so, Don. I appreciate that you haven't responded back. It proves a point that I was given the opportunity to make.
So first off, I have no I'll will, and apologize for baiting you.
But I also thank you for correctly responding to the situation.
The point I wanted to make was regarding how people react to antagonists.
I am not with you face to face. I am not holding a gun towards you. But you still knew when it was time to stop.
Your responses to antagonism were starting to elevate, and you walked away.
The guy in this video did not. Your reaction, is what he should have done.
Again, I do apologize for baiting you, and again thank you for showing what people should actually do.

Clearly, the man was overly aggressive, but at the end of the day...was a parking space worth a life?

Payne exited her vehicle holding a phone in her left hand and a firearm in her right and said, per a witness, "If you keep coming up to me, I'm going to ------- shoot you!" the memo stated.
The witness reported that "despite those warnings," DiGuglielmo continued to approach, and video showed him "aggressively approach" Payne, according to the memo.
But first approach is not when she felt in such fear of imminent death or great bodily harm to act. Also, apparently she wasn’t in that fear when he backed her out of view of the camera. She then returned to her car and at least without audio the intensity seemed lower as he was walking past her and across the front of her car until she braced gun on roof of vehicle to point gun at him again. He then turned around, and she almost immediately felt fear for her life enough to finally shoot him after he rounded the front corner of the car unlike the other earlier times.
I really wanted to know what was being said during the backing out of view of camera and then while he was crossing in front of her vehicle just before the shooting when braced her gun on top of her vehicle while aiming it at him.
There has to be an imminent fear of death or great bodily harm. She had the deadly weapon and was not shy about showing it or threatening to use it, so what was different about those 2 exchanges between them. He definitely appeared aggressive while she backed out of view, but maybe his words weren’t as aggressive then. He didn’t appear as aggressive when walked in front of her car before turning around, but maybe his words then became true threats of deadly violence. She also could have instigated it in that moment after possibly being pushed by someone on the phone to stir it up and shoot him.
The decision doesn’t surprise me, but to be 100% in agreement on it I really would have liked some witness statements about the conversations during those 2 parts of the confrontation, to know who she was talking to on the phone the entire time if not the police, and to know what was the initial cause of the confrontation over the parking spot.

The fact you need someone to point it out speaks volumes.
