Wow someone got triggered!!! Need a safe place?

Again, I don't have a problem with this but even the cops realize that parading a black man tied to a horse through downtown Galveston wasnt going to look good. What could they have done: radio in for someone to come pick him up for the arrest.

The point is there was an alternative and they could have avoided this story. But no, I don't think there was racist intent

is your imagination so limited that you really can’t derive another solution? If so, congrats: you’re dumb enough to be a cop.

Did they beat him? Did they drag him from behind the horse in a full sprint? What’s the big deal? So he had to walk. Big deal. The cops seemed pretty respectful. They didn’t make fun of him or talk shite.

really? Have you seen the video or read this thread at all? They did say it looks bad.

What are their advantages in Galveston? I can see their usefulness in places like Bourbon St and NYC where there are large crowds, dense groupings of people, or the need for crowd control. I don't see any of these issues in Galveston.

I'd assume because they can get places other cops can't. And I'm fairly certain Galveston can get a crowd same as anywhere else. Considering their usage in departments all over the country, it would seem safe to say they have legit reasons to use them. BRPD has them as well, and we don't get crowds like they do on Galveston beaches.

You should take the time to educate yourself. I lived through the late 60's and early 70's. Lived in places with history of the exact offenses listed in the textbooks and visited the locations and museums housing said histories. I grew up with the peoples who were directly involved in the incidents, the parents and grandparents of friends and classmates. I have heard from their mouths direct testimony of those involved.

Not a single record of police dragging nor "escorting" people down streets with ropes around their necks.

You have your itty bitty incorrect delusions. Put down the vape pen, put away the pills and potions and powders. Walk away from the bottle and educate yourself.

Still waiting for 1969 cops dragging anyone, black, white, any shade in between, by their necks with a rope in broad daylight, anywhere.

You don't know jack squat about those times and are too weak of a person to admit it.

Some of the things the did to blacks in the 60's are much worse.

Some of these images may be disturbing so I'm warning you...dont click if you're easily offended.

Oh definitely. Some truly horrible, terrible, things were done to blacks (and other ethnic groups as well) throughout US history.

However, the discussion was about 1969 cops dragging black men by their necks through the city streets in broad daylight that YOU postulated.

No issues here. Did the perp think to himself, "this isn't going to look good," when he broke the law?

frick that shite, that dude was trespassing and the tax paying people shouldn't suffer his foolishness/smell or parasite existence.

If he wants to leech off people he can do it in jail. I generally don't care how he gets brought there as long as he wasn't hurt doing it. Besides his hurt feefees.

Chalk another issue up to mental illness.

This was a (probably) schizophrenic homeless dude. Little secret nobody mentions, cops don’t want them in their fricking cars. I can absolutely see that discussion happening. “How far is the walk? frick it I don’t want a car out of service while we clean out homeless stench!”

However they should have known the shite storm potential and just sent a car. If they had it to do over they would’ve.
