LINK

You can hear one cop admitting that "this isn't going to look good" in the video.

I don’t see an issue with it. Just bad optics

Non issue like most. Is he supposed to abandon his horse or something? Dumb.

What’s he suppose to do get off his horse and walk the criminal and the horse... the fact that society as a whole is more concerned about the appearance of this ordeal vs a criminal being detained and off the streets shows you where we are headed...

when this was first released there was no audio from the police. They just released it. The cop knew it wouldn't look good, even chuckled at the thought of it a few times. Listen to the link.

there were 2 cops but the point of this thread is the audio. There's already a thread about the arrest.

50 years ago it would have been and they would be dragging the man to the police station

Partner could have lead his horse and he walked the perp.

Could have called for a squad car and waited.

Many options besides that. When your gut tells you “it’s going to look bad” find a solution that doesn’t set of those alarm bells.

Obviously, ideally he would have called someone with a car to transport him, but I really don't see the issue. What's the difference than if the cop was on foot walking him?

all of this. Listen to the audio. They both knew it would look bad and the male chuckles about it a few times.

I'm not outraged at all by it but those cops should have called someone in to do the arrest. They knew the optics would be horrible and race is a sensitive issue. I dont think racism played a role at all, but perception unfortunately trumps intent

then get rid of the horses, wtf are they supposed to do? put themselves in a compromising posture just so as not to offend the tPOS?

Hyperbole much? I'm 55 and I guarantee this would've been news and just as negatively viewed 50 years ago.

Try 75-100 years ago and you might have a point though.

Contrary to popular perception, civilization existed 50 years ago. People had cars/trucks, central AC/heat, television, refrigeration, telephones in most homes, microwave ovens even. 50 years ago there was an active space program.
