That sucks. Super 8 in NOLA East is no beuno. Sad that he probably didn't know that when he booked his trip

You don't think he read any reviews or looked for "areas" to be in. My guess is he booked it straight by price. Not to mention, what about the drive in? Light out or night time it would have looked bad.

This is what happens when leadership allows large swaths of the city to become dangerous, crime infested shite holes. Tourists don’t know any better when making reservations at “that place that sounds close to the city center.”

Who the frick gets a hotel in Nola east?

That's an 11 minute walk to Visions.

I'm not pointing out anything unusual but a walking specific time frame from Visions to the Super 8 triggers more conversation in this thread

Not that it's fault on the victim but nothing about this hotel sounds or looks on a map close to the center of the city

That's insane. If you didn't know any better you wouldn't think twice about staying there.......

I’ve actually stayed there before back 15 years ago when it was best western. It was actually a decent hotel without an abnormal amount of riff Raff.

Maybe 5 tourists killed out of 10 million a year. One tourist is one too many but Nola isnt anywhere close to being the tourist murder capital.

Visions is located on Downman in the opposite direction from the hotel where he was found. It sounds like he was found within 10 minutes of the report of gunfire at 6 a.m. Sat. Plus, I believe his friends or family have said his belongings were taken from the hotel room.

Check out the Google street view where he was found: LINK

Yards on that street are surprisingly maintained except for a lot or two

Sounds like he was kidnapped and then shot executions style. Horrific way to die to some low life animals.

So my division is HQ’ed in Lunderskov, and I’ve been to DK multiple time. We hve plenty of danish team members here in Nola. It’s pretty upsetting that tourists, vets no less, are being killed. NOLA needs to a have a hard reset.

I guess Katrina wasn't hard enough.

I wonder if these ghetto airbnbs are preying upon unsuspecting tourists?

Oh one of those “walking distance to the French quarter” airbnb’s.

We need to bring back the militia and go house by house in the ghetto to find these bastards

They would outnumber any militia and probably are better armed. It's new Orleans.

Most likely a clueless tourist trying to save a buck on a room. Who knows though? Could have been a drug deal gone south which unfortunately happens from time to time.
