I’ve been officially expedited for the test. Oschner Urgent Care facilities are now doing the testing. Canal Street location is one of them. You check in they give you a mask and wait for doctors to give you the test.

Did you lick or touch every microphone you saw yesterday? Have you been around Tom Hanks or the Nebraska team? Here's hoping you don't have the WuFlu!!

The Coronavirus test process is totally fricked up. You will not get tested if you did NOT travel to China, South Korea, or Japan.
I had EKGs, Chest X-Rays, Oxygen tests, Influenza tests, and a whole host of other tests done but while the Doctors wanted to give me the Coronavirus tests Blue Cross Blue Shield would not approve because I had not traveled to those countries. The Oschner folks were upset about this because they had been turning away dozens of people whose primary physicians sent them to be tested only to be told once they got there that they were ineligible.
If your Primary Doctor or other medical person tells you to go get tested MAKE SURE you tell them you went to China so BCBS or other insurance companies will approve your test. It is ridiculous but that is the current state of affairs.
I'm to follow-up as soon as the insurance fiasco for these tests opens up.

LoL but let’s do this through private insurance companies right CDC and Donald? frick private insurance those greedy fricks.
That’s so absurd and everything wrong with this country in a nutshell. Can’t even put aside our bullshite health insurance nightmare of a system for a pandemic that’s forcing society to shut down

They are not following proper CDC protocols.

He said it’s blue cross blue shield not paying for it. It has nothing to do with doctors. Insurance won’t pay for it unless you’re coming from an infected area

Take that to the news.

The cases tested in Frisco, TX this week were for people who hadn’t traveled outside of the US or knew anyone who had the virus. This sounds like a localized issue with your state and/or insurance commonly who haven’t adopted the new, broader CDC suggested parameters for testing.

Call Chris Nakumoto at WBRZ and tell him this story, this shite boils my blood. It's almost like they are purposely not testing to keep numbers down

Classic insurance company. They’ll “cover it” as long as you fit an absurdly narrow category. As if they were over going to actually just eat the cost pay out of the kindness of their hearts

I’m sick and self- quarantined since last Friday and I was in China in November. When they ask I’ll say yeah I was there in November. I just won’t say 2018.

I have the exact same symptoms except instead of shortness of breath, chest tightness and head burning, my bowels are seized up and when I pass gas it sounds like someone is tuning a fiddle.

How do they actually test for the virus?

Coworker of my wife (no pics) went see her mother (no pics) in the hospital. She sneezes walking out the elevator and nurses at front desk see her do so, refuse to let her see her mother without getting tested. She told them she was fine just had seasonal allergies, but they wouldn’t budge. Tested negative, and was allowed right in.

I would go to Blue Cross and rub my spit on every door handle and car door. Then I would sit in the lobby and cough.

Surprising, I thought universal healthcare was the problem.

So any test results?
And my total understanding was insurance will be paying for the tests — hasnt community acquired illness happened enough to warrant someone with symptoms despite not traveling to infected places be tested?

Shocker there’s red tape. It’s almost as if private insurance and the free market isn’t some wondrous driver of efficiency when it comes to healthcare
