no, he wasn't. but, to date, this is the last potential image/sighting of him by anyone other than his family. if he didn't actually leave with his parents, maybe other people who were there will come forward with info.

Finding the location could lead to witnesses, security videos, etc. What if there had been a witness to verify that three arrived but only two left? Finding any exact location he has been at can lead them one step closer to finding him.

Apparently you didn't read or follow the whole story. He found the campground because he received a tip. No one knew...at least the authorities or news agencies never reported...where they had camped. Now we have verification of the location and another witness has talked. None of that happened before he found the campsite. And if the cops knew he had been there, they certainly didn't indicate that they did. The couple didn't say shite about where they had camped. He found the location, not the cops. So yeah, it really is some crackerjack work.

The videos at the entrance are maintained by the Sheriff of Pinellas county. A local TV station filed a FOI request for the video, and was told that the videos were part of an active investigation, and unavailable at this time.
Dog is saying he was told that 3 went in on the 6th, and 2 left on the 8th.
It seems to be a theme with this family to return with one less than they left with.
ETA: They were told it is an active investigation by the North Port police, and the FBI.
