They probably want to hold onto that information until it is necessary to release it. Helps to rule out false confessions from attention seekers.
Edit: Also, if the Laundries are in possession of the weapon (and haven't destroyed it yet), the FBI probably doesn't want to give them any indication of what the weapon is so that they don't destroy it.

It's a difficult time for her family and grieving folks do things that will make them feel better or help them in celebrating the life of their loved one. Maybe they thought if it was streamed, they'd have less folks who didn't know her show up. Who knows and who knows who may have been advising them during this time.
They've been through hell and it's not over.

I assure you i have more than 1 retired neighbor who pass time watching trail cams when motion alerts come in. If it backs up to private land, I'd presume you're getting watched as you hike by. Especially on "smaller" plots that are 1000-2000 feet of shared border. Just my experience in the area.

well, the reason for the visit was given by their attorney, so it might not necessarily be accurate...or maybe it's dna samples from the parents...who knows.

Paper bags are better for conserving evidence such as DNA or gunshot residue. Murder victims are routinely transported to the morgue with paper bags around their hands to help keep evidence safe.
