He’s on the run. Just another deflection given by his parents. They are just wasting resources, while he gets entrenched in his new lifestyle.

I believe he is hiding somewhere but I don't believe he is hiding in the reserve they are currently searching. I’m wondering if they are searching the reserve for a potential murder weapon (gun)? Also, I'm curious to know how much longer they will continue to search the reserve. Let's say they don't find anything in the reserve for another 2-3 days, will they continue to search there?

If he's hiding he can't hide forever. I still think the App Trail is a possibility. 50/50 he's already dead though.

Could be but I assume the lower portion is busy these days and he’s got a very limited time frame.
The Florida Trail is a lot more likely and I have to assume this is being explored. It’s not very well known but it goes from Pensacola to Miami basically. There’s some decent stretches you have to walk along a 2 lane road so it wouldn’t be the best at times, but it’s not that well traveled at all in most areas and a lot of campsites are ‘backcountry’ by a couple miles but but also close enough to civilization you could pop into a store fairly easily.

Florida trail goes right by my farm, between etoniah state forest and goldhead state park... deep in bfe. I don't think that's really where baw wants to be, especially if he's made by a local.

I’m assuming by ‘made by a local’ you mean spotted? In my experience a lot of the hikers are more the hippie types especially older retirement age day hikers.
I’d be surprised if local boys aren’t doing day hikes armed just for shits and grins to look for him. But who knows.
I’m also assuming Gabby want shot? Because nothing has been said about him being armed and dangerous?

How sad that the family is having a funeral without her body. I wonder why they didn't wait for the release? Maybe the FBI said it was going to be a very long time and they needed to move forward in their grieving process.

Whitey Bulger was on the FBIs most wanted list for like 15 years and and was living in plain sight in California. Granted they usually do get caught pretty quickly. I doubt this guy is some kind of expert in establishing a new identity.

Perhaps the FBI is holding onto the body for as long as it is reasonably possible in order to confirm the murder weapon by comparison with wounds or other injuries?
They probably told the parents that the body would not be presentable to them after 3 weeks of advanced decay and that it would be better for them if it were cremated anyway.
So, the family is having a memorial to go forward with the grieving process and when the FBI is officially done with the investigation, the body will be released for cremation.
