Over 2,000 miles from where her body was found to North Port, FL. Assuming that van got 12-15mpg, which is a huge if with it being outfitted to be a camper, gas alone would have been well over $500 on the conservative side

I was trying to avoid discussion on the abuse issue, but that's still an area of discussion that hasn't been settled.
I doubt she did much that could actually harm him. Even so, instead of killing her, why not just go back to FL and go their separate ways? I think her dad lives north of Tampa. He could have driven there and had someone come pick him up.

Do you even know what the van is?
A Transit Connect is small. The 2012 was rated at 27 mpg highway.

It will be interesting to see exactly what the transactions were. He knew her PIN, but legally he obviously wasn't on the account. It will be interesting to see if he just used it to cover expenses, or if he sucked all her money out.

Did you miss the part where he murdered her?

If they pick a jury from the area the Casey Anthony jury was selected this guy is home free. Assuming of course he is ever found and brought to trial.

One thing we can all agree on in this thread…..
He’s fricked

2. When the voice mail and text messages popped up on her phone, the ID would have been the name she assigned to his number..."Pops", "Grandpa", or whatever.
Being from a divorced situation, Gabby could have had 4 grandfathers, so she may have listed some by name, to avoid confusion.
If Stan was a step-grandfather, BL might rarely have seen him, and just kept seeing the name "Stan" pop up, because grandpaw, granddad, etc. had already been taken by Gabby's DNA grandfathers early in her life

In the police video footage, it seems like it
But maybe she finally had the courage to fight back, and abusers don’t usually care for that
Obviously

Packer, some people here don't like facts, or anything that goes against their hive mind.

Facts that the van was rated at 27mpg versus the claimed 12-15?

Real world reports show 20-23 mpg. The high end estimates probably account for zero payload and new car efficiency.

Um, not these numbers; https://www.fuelly.com/car/ford/transit_connect/2012
Steady state on the interstate coming home would have been at it's most efficient. I've routinely gotten better than rated on long runs.

Not sure what any of the fuel estimates add to this discussion anyway.

In the end, it doesn't matter what mileage it got as it would seem he was stocking up on cash.
Apparently the legal number is over $1000 for the feds. They say he crossed that threshold but not by how much.
He may have pulled 5 grand, random number, which would obviously point to him planning to go to ground.
