I think it's probably safe to say he wasn't planning this all out before shite hit the fan.
I said earlier, its documented that he was in an altercation with someone "attacking him". The POS could have probably claimed it was self defense and could have possibly convinced someone on a jury..had he not sent texts and contradicted himself.
..now, had he been planning this up. He should have just killed himself to begin with.

Another reason why this took a little time...not only did the feds have to wait until they had an official ruling of a homicide, but the warrant is from a federal grand jury. I imagine that it takes a minute or two to convene a grand jury, present all the evidence, etc., and get the indictment. Takes a little more time than just a district attorney issuing it on his own.

I just want to point out that this thread has improved exponentially since the Cluckster culled the herd.
Thank you sir

The over $1,000 in 48-72 hours is fascinating. Did he drain cash out of her checking account? Did he buy shite? That's more than just for expenses on the way home.

Well I think most of it flipped once her body was positively identified and homicide was ruled the COD. A lot of speculation became confirmed, public fact at that point. It closed a lot of area for discussion.

Well if he had no money, that's not really a lot of money.
At first I thought it was just him filling up the tank but that amount clearly shows it wasn't.

Those couple of jack offs were still arguing semantics for the past 2 days. Really cluttered this place up.

Out of respect for the dead, I was trying to avoid discussion on the abuse issue, but that's still an area of discussion that hasn't been settled.

Gas at $3/gallon...probably $400 in that alone, then 3 meals a day...maybe $100 more...? Drinks every night and we're at $1k...
I've made the trip out west and back several times.

What little evidence and facts we DO have suggest it was a momentary thing, he basically lost his cool and wasn't planning it ahead of time. If he were planning it, there's a million other things he would've done differently unless his IQ is somewhere in the single digits. First and foremost, he wouldn't have done it right after being pulled over for a domestic disturbance. Second to that, is that he would've hidden the body much better in a part of the country where there's seemingly endless better possibilities.
Chances are it was a 'heat of the moment' kind of spat and he vastly overreacted and intended to inflict harm, but not kill her. This would be why her body was somewhat easily found near where their van was parked. It suggests that after he killed her (most likely) he felt some level of guilt.
With that being said, most that feel guilt after killing someone don't disappear to commit suicide, they disappear to get away from the consequences. If he were planning on committing suicide, he most likely would've done so near her body or at (or near) his home. The fact that he lives with his parents throws a little bit of an unpredictable wrench into this though.
The fact that he drove home to subsequently get his parents and family involved leads me to believe he never intended suicide. You don't drive home and put that heavy weight on them, you do it thousands of miles away to limit the shrapnel

The dates are as, if not more important than the amount. Can’t send texts if you are dead.

Reasonable minds can disagree. I think $1,000 is a lot of cash for 23 year olds to carry around when you have debit cards. But that's just my opinion. I wonder if he drained her account. That could account for the amount.

I think they both did it, but she got caught. It's not the first time she beat his arse tho.

Gas alone was a few hundred. And that's all the money he may ever get again

Yeah, but I'm guessing he wasn't dining at fine establishments and hitting up bars. I was thinking more along the lines of fast food and getting home as soon as possible. Google maps says it's about a 36 hour trip. During the stretch August 30-Sept. 1, that doesn't leave much time for anything else other than sleeping. But who knows?
