While I agree that men do often get screwed when it comes to DV and there are lots of women that get away with things in those situations, I don't see what it has to do with this.
It's pretty obvious that they both had issues and pushed each other's buttons. Based on the video it seems like she's capable of her fair share of violence. But honestly what difference does it make in this case? She's dead, and he pretty obviously killed her. Unless you want to argue that it could have been self defense, which is pretty laughable, especially based on what we know now.
It's pretty evident now that this dude was just a pussy and handled everything like a pussy. She was beating the shite out of him for the entire trip? Ok, but why not man up and leave her arse on the side of the road with her van and hitchhike to the bus station? Because he's a stupid pussy and he was in over his head by even going on that trip.

Because even if she was crazy he clearly out kicked his coverage and with his complete lack of friends he knew she was all he would ever have. He wasn't going to give that up until he snapped, bashed her head in, and fled because he was even crazier than she was.

With this latest piece of info, I'm just doing a bit of spitballing. To me it seems like money had become an issue.
1) He clearly didnt have enough to get home, so he accessed someone elses
2) They were living with his parents, while engaged
3) They had already spent a nice sum getting outfitted for this months long trip
4) The restaurant has now admitted that there was an incident, which more often than not is about the bill, or perhaps an automatic tip
5) He offered someone $200 for a ride. Who does that except someone that has no concept of value?

So at that point maybe one of them had determined the dream was over. I'm thinking BL wanted out, and back to momma. GP had nothing left to fall back on, now that her Internet sensation dream was dead. She wasnt going back to the juice bar. They argued, they got aggressive, their relationship got permanently thrown under the bus, things were said that can never be taken back, and then she starting hitting him. And he hit back. And didnt quit

I still think someone drove him to Colter Bay to shower and get rid of clothes. He hitched a ride, so he could get back to the van, asap and get away from the Tetons, as fast as he could.
Something else that’s really strange, the neighbors said he came home, mowed the lawn, went bike riding with his mother, and went on a 3 day camping trip with his parents. That is strange to me.

That's why he should have texted himself from her phone about them breaking up (since he was supposedly hiking by himself at the time). He tries to call her back a day or two later and she doesn't answer, obviously because he killed her. He then offers the $200 to hitchhike back to the camping spot. He hangs out there for a bit and she doesn't come back so he calls the cops and says she seems to be missing. They say you have to wait, so he waits the night then goes searching for her and "finds" her. He calls in the body, has an alibi, and some sort of reasonable doubt. Instead he does what he did. I mean I came up with that in 30 seconds. Is it foolproof no but it's better for his chances to not be convicted of murder than what he is doing now

Not much that this guy has done has made any sense. Using her card was pretty stupid, unless he literally had no cash or credit card of his own. And even then, he had to know that the feds would find out. I'm assuming that would be common knowledge to a 23 year old, but who knows these days?

If he wanted to create an alibi, he could have created a whole fake conversation with her using the two phones. But that would have required much more rational thought than he has demonstrated so far.

Without bringing too much technical stuff into this thread again, the cellphone would have pinged off the same tower and they would have easily seen the phones were in close proximity of each other.

I'm guessing that short of being a stone cold sociopath, which he isn't, he was a bit scared and freaked out after whatever happened which clouded his thought process.
