Was your cashier a product of the public education system?

It's 2022. Use a friggin card. Exact change every time. Cash takes longer too.

Not only do I use cash most of the time, I given them pennies to get only silver change in return. I love to watch them struggle.

Oh yeah, frick you. You can wait 30 damn seconds.

Update: I called back this morning to see if the drawer count was accurate. They said they would call me back. A few hours later they call me back and tell me they have launched an investigation because she has been doing this to people from quite some time and this is the first time someone has said something.
She was grabbing the right amount and slipping a bill or two in her pocket or under the counter. Pretty slick because I didn’t notice at all.
Got my money back and launched an investigation haha

You only have yourself to blame the next time you are in a checkout line 10 customers deep because they are short staffed.

I recently had a girl short me at the Rouses. I checked my change and said "hey I am short $20". She didn't hesitate and handed me a $20. That leads me to believe it was on purpose. There was zero hesitation. No way it doesn't at least merit a review of the receipt and register drawer.

Manager is sus if they had known for a while but was waiting on someone to come back and complain like…come on…if more than two (unrelated) people came back to complain- they should have immediately taken some action

Similar happened to me. I paid with a $20, noticed she didn't give me change for a 20, said I paid with a 10. I said no I didn't, and she gave me the difference right there.

UPDATE

At least they seem to be somewhat responsive. You might’ve saved this country from another thief!

Sounds like something an "affluent" member of society would do.

How would they know if you were the first to question?

It’s a very common scam with retail cashiers. If the manager wasn’t looking out for it, they are very negligent

This happened to me at popeyes. I gave them a $20 on an order that was almost $8. She gave me my change and I didn't think to count it, but when I got home I had $5 less than I should have. I thought I might have dropped it, but then after looking around the only thing that made sense was that she kept $5.

I figured at that point it was my word against hers, this was years back and didn't even think about cameras, but I am glad they caught that bitch.

Same thing happened to me in the stadium club. I noticed when i returned to my seat. I went back and caught her red handed the second time. I despise a thief.

This little scam can go both ways. I paid with a $20 and you gave me change for a $10. You really passed the cashier a $5.

Great question. They went back in the footage and saw all of these people getting shorted by her while paying cash. And no one noticed
