PBS is definitely going to make a NOVA episode out of this. Looking forward to that moreso than a movie to be honest.

Wonder what they will do with the cave now? Small explosive to prohibit further entry?

Couple warning signs. Maybe a gate to block it off during times of high water or when rains that could flood it are expected.

I will be honest. I did not have much hope all of the boys would make it out safely, at all. Especially after a navy seal lost his life during the dive. Even moreso when there were reports that the boys would have to be left stranded for a few months until the heavy rains and floods subsided. I really did not have much hope that all 13 would actually make it out alive.

Major props to the hundreds of people who worked around the clock to ensure their safe rescue. This one mission brought in experts from around the world just to save 12 boys and a young adult. Just when I think there is absolutely no good left in humanity. A story like this happens.

Also thanks to everyone who has kept this thread updated. I have been following along on here ever since they were initially found. TD was my news source.

Presumably there was video documentation of everything. Would love to see it.

This report, from after the second four were at the hospital, talks about the treatment they are getting, the bland food they are eating, and that their parents have seen them and phones are being set up to talk with them.

The isolation might seem extreme to us in the western world, but it's different there. Remember days ago when the history of their coach was discussed. At the age of six, there was a fatal disease in his town and his mother, father and brother died of that disease. He was left an orphan.

Fox news just reported that the Thai people have said they will close it off for a while and then will re-open it as is sightseeing spot.

I would imagine they'd close it until the rainy season is over. Then there will probably be a big cleanup job.

Not sure why I got shite on for suggesting a small explosive. Yes, lets have a re-do with more students in the near future. Seems like a good idea.

Thanks for your input Tiger91

They love surgical masks over there. On the news, even the guys directing traffic had them on yesterday.

I'd pull out that IV and head to the World Cup. Kids this age will bounce back.

Yeah, they should find a way to close it off just to eliminate the curiosity factor.

Just put a big sign with a skull that says danger. No reason to close it off entirely. Do guided tours and make a buck. Caves are cool, people should be able to enjoy them.

haven't people died falling from signs on cliffs saying "danger" or something?

He died doing something he clearly enjoyed and for a worthy cause. The other rescuers loved doing it too.

A great way to go IMHO. People like that shouldn't die in a nursing home, that would be cruel to someone like that.

So make cliffs off limits? The world is dangerous, put signage up and if people take risks so be it.

Also I hope all of the rescue divers get a free trip to the World Cup final. They deserve it.
