This story and the happy ending is truly an incredible one. Even with zero skin in the game it's made me very proud of the dozens who risked their lives. I had a feeling Elon Musk would come through.

This is fantastic news. I honestly did not truly believe they would make it out. I would say that they would, but I had nagging doubts. Thankfully I was wrong!!

Thank you God!!

Amazing. I didn’t do a damn thing but cheer on from the sidelines but this makes me so proud of humanity that there are people out there with such a combination of brilliant thinking and bravery to pull off this incredibly difficult rescue op.

Also, is there an update on where Dr. Superman Harris is?

He’s been a central figure in the rescues. LINK

I am just happy they did not take 4 months to get them like they said it would take.. Knew they could get out faster then that.

If the journos want an up close view, there is a nice spot about 4km in they should put them.

Didn't read the end of this thread but did they use the Elon Sub?

I don't know what is with so many people saying they didn't think the boys were going to make it out. Like we've got a bunch of cave diving experts on here...

This is 2018. They were going to get them fricking out of there.

No he showed up and dropped it off. He posted pictures from in the cave. Props to to him for trying to do something to help but his sub didn’t look very useful in this situation.

Last night on the news they said the boys were quarantined due to infection risk
They were working on making some sort of glass wall so that they could at least see each other.

The concern wasn’t would they get out it was would they make through the journey out. Last week the cave was still flooded and they were talking about 6 hour cave dives for these kids. The fact that they could walk or wade more than half of it made it a lot less dangerous.

"they" being the sensationalist news. The water being pumped out was always going to happen and part of the plan from almost the very beginning. To what extent wasn't exactly known but it was going to be much lower than "6hr dive".
