My understanding is that it’s being strongly considered to moving UNO from the UL system back to the LSU system as it originally was.
Post Katrina it has struggled, but under LSU I was thinking it was more independent than other campuses (and obviously older as well). I don’t think that can happen if it goes back to LSU.
Wasn’t too long ago UNO and alumni fought against a merge with SUNO? I think that was correct move as at least back then SUNO was a complete fraud living off govt grants and state aid for its non-graduating students. Something needs to change with both of them.

No matter what their argument is, it’s hard to go against anyone not wanting this got to handle money lol. That’s as pin headed of a greaseball as you’ll find. Surprised he hasn’t run for a state seat.

Academics in general are insufferable
Academics at mediocre institutions who think they're Plato are just a level beyond that
LOL

Sounds to me as though the cfo is actually doing what needs to be done to make ends meet and the shite bird faculties don’t like it.

Close it down. The idea that we need a 4-year institution 30 minutes from every door in the state is preposterous.
Focus resources on a few select 4 year institutions and let the rest of the money go to subsidizing the tuition for career and technical education.

So they can just create a fund that is full of money? How does one do this?

Yes.
Lazy professors at work plus no one can do well at Grambling by the very nature of the endemic corruption there.

Louisiana has far too many universities, but I’m sure what needs to be done won’t get done.

What is funny is an economics professor attacking a CFO for trying to save enough money to keep the university afloat. That dumbass should be the first to go.

I've never thought about it, but Louisiana does have an extraordinary number of 4-y uni campuses for the population they serve. Harris County (Houston) has a larger population, with 3 4-years, and 2 of them are private.
The administrative cost alone on that many independent campuses has to be lopsided.
