Never was, but keep running that BS in the ground. You are such a shell of your former poster self. At least come up with a different line. Maybe try a funny one.

Monroe have just as much of a claim to the “University of Louisiana” title as the flaming chili peppers in Lafayette?

Actually, neither has a claim to it. I believe it's spelled out in state law that no school can be known as simply the "University of Louisiana".

I don't understand why ULM is content with a label that looks like a satellite university of Lafayette? They have just as much right to demand ESPN call them the "Louisiana". They come off as USL's cuck.
Technically, none of the schools can use Louisiana for official academic purposes.

They are officially University of Louisiana at Lafayette, better known as ULL or U La La. They want to feel important and raised a huge stink with the media to call them Louisiana. There is and always will be only one chartered University of Louisiana, and that is Tulane.

Much respect for ULM, they know their name and embrace it. Real U of Louisiana

My dad went there in the 50's, he still has a stadium blanket with the Bulldog logo and SLI on it.

If ULM beats Appalachian state, they get the University of Louisiana moniker.

I thought it was an NCAA rule that no team with a state for a name can play football on Wednesday.

Louisiana is such a weird, insecure state. Imagine Bama fans being concerned by this kind of thing days before a top ten matchup at home.

All of my high school coaches played for USL. 3 of them climbed a light pole at McNaspy Stadium to get a better view of Hurricane Betsy. Tornados spun off from the hurricane did knock over large trees in Laffy.

I think one of the reasons they opted to step up to major college was that they couldn't beat their rival, McNeese, for a decade

is all of a sudden calling them “Louisiana.”
Welcome to 2014. Just the way things are nowadays. Wouldn’t you rather be Louisiana than USL or ULL or a bunch of other confusing alphabet anyway? I don’t care just where I see it.

That’s because Tulane was the original University of Louisiana and still owns the rights to that name.

I guess when you beat a Saban coached Alabama and a #4 ranked Arkie, everyone pretty much knows who ULM is. When everyone hears UL, they think of University of Louisville.

Before any dumbass ULL fan comes in here , it’s your name . Deal with it

You tend to mention it on Twitter about anything related to the Cajuns. Like every single tweet. You’re seriously that insecure about it. It's weird.

Most schools, including flagships, always have they full name with cities included. From an athletic branding standpoint, using the state name is fine. In Louisiana, it can’t be on official written documentation.
