Pretty sure it isn't the transplants pushing this movement

Sounds like a good dude.
But this is probably as good a time as any to suggest that liberalism fostered DEI and responding to abuses of liberalism with more devotion to it will ultimately fail.

This isn’t quite right. It's more accurately stated in this quote.....
quote:
The rise of illiberalism in the name of DEI
In almost every instance of claiming something as DEI, the exact opposite of what would be DEI, is done. It's as bad as how racist/racism terminology is thrown around.

For example, when it comes to minorities who pursue STEM fields in college, “we don’t see that they’re being hried into the industry and into the fields coming out of the universities -- the outcomes of these students are not getting better,” he said.
Is this 100% an Alabama/university problem? What are the hiring practices of these entities where minorities got frozen out of employment? That ought to be taken into consideration.

you're either trolling, very ignorant on the topic, or flat out dumb if you don't think alabama's academic prestige and student body makeup has changed exponentially over the last 15 years. And that's majority in part because of footballs success.

I'd say it's mostly attributable to systemic changes - where all brand name large universities are seeing much stronger applicant pools.
But after that, I agree, the football success means money and interest and prestige. It's why Alabama became a top backup school for Buckhead and Highland Park kids.

Why do I care why some guy in Alabama quit his job?

Nope, it just belongs on the QAGA board with all the other QAGA threads. Are you feeling lonely in your echo chamber?

If you have a problem with the content on the OT, i would suggest finding a new echo chamber of your own, as it seems like you're the one who is desiring one.

quote:No, it's majority because of president Witt's herculean vision for the school's scholarly potential and all the money they throw at OOS students.
And that's majority in part because of footballs success.
My buddy is a professor at OSU, and his daughter made a mid-30s ACT score. It was cheaper for her to go to Bama than OSU after scholarships and discounts.
Hiring Saban was one small part of that vision.
