Prol some guy who had enough dealing with coverage or a claim. I get it. Frustrating as hell. Not worth killing over. We got denied for a therapeutic treatment for a autoimmune disorder and never felt more frustrated or helpless. Boggled my mind that we pay for all this insurance, had in network Drs saying she needs a medication and denied for 3 months. Eventually, after several calls/letters from me and the Drs it was approved but what a rollercoaster. That was BCBS.

Oh absolutely not.

Expensive treatments aren't the issue. Wasteful treatments, diagnostics and procedures, overuse, abuse, fraud are. It's why the US healthcare system is failing. It's just expensive...it's expensive and doesn't produce results correlative to the cost. High cost and poor outcomes. the solution to that isn't focusing on spending more money, it's demanding better results.

Who makes this determination? Surely you are not suggesting that an employee of the insuance company is impartial.

Again, a major reason for both high cost and poor outcomes is due to our population. Fat, lazy, unhealthy, and irresponsible for their own choices is extremely difficult and extremely expensive to overcome.

Comparing our healthcare to places like Sweden or Japan in these aspects is absolutely absurd.

Random or targeted?

CEO’s of any major organization at any level never “randomly” get shot and killed. Never. 100% of the time.

This.

Everyone wants to blame the system when they are 90% of the problem.

If Americans weren’t so lazy, fat, and unhealthy, this would be a significantly smaller issue.

Unless I am mistaken, in Japan, you take a yearly physical exam and you pay more if you are unhealthy.

There should be consequences for shitty choices.

I have to assume one benefit the police will have in catching this suspect is it occurred in Manhatten which most likely has cameras covering almost every inch of space. The police will be able to follow the suspect for a long time by camera.

Suspect escaped on a bike and looks younger, or least does not appear to be older. Seems very likely it was someone that maybe lost a baby or wife.

Agreed. It's not the only reason but it's a big one.

Its not like security is the secret service. He most likely had security as a driver waiting for him outside. Its difficult to provide security 24/7 for anyone

If that was the only factor addressed, the cost of medical care would probably drop by over half.

I doubt that.
I bet is a guy who lost a family member because UH wouldn't cover the procedure.

Either way the dude didn't deserve to die

Spreading out the financials risks
Spreading out the financial benefits

Holding those accountable for costly services hat do not produce healthy outcomes. Rewarding those that do.

You make it sound so easy. Why not go out and do it then?

Someone else making money does not make it less possible for you to do so. The pie is not finite. Somehow that mindset has pervaded many in this country and I think it's the new obsession with finding a way to be a victim.

It is when you regulate the shite out of everything and create a massive input cost to even try and innovate anything.

It is ABSOLUTELY much easier to be a lawyer in terms of risk than it is to try to create new medicines or build homes.

It is ABSOLUTELY easier to be a finance guy that shifts product around an excel spreadsheet than it is to be the guy that tries to create an improved product.

A economy rich in bankers and lawyers goes nowhere except down an endless hole of finance and laws.

It is ABSOLUTELY easier to be a non-innovator that does nothing but restrict the paths of those who want to actually improve the physical conditions of our lives.

As should be the case, but the USA is fricking retarded.

We punish those who choose appropriately while rewarding those who act inappropriately or selfishly.

Nope. Litigious fat asses are the main reason. Go sit in an emergency room for 3 hours once a month and you'll understand more.
