Yup. We've just been told everyone is taking a 2% salary cut for the year.
Not horrible, but just a few weeks ago we were told we'd be fine because we're an "essential" business.

Everything is essential. Cash flowing through the system is how everything functions. That has been artificially clamped down.
The term “non-essential” is stupid. Those businesses are pretty fricking essential to the people who own or work for them.

I’m an engineer that codes for a huge portion of my job, of which our biggest customer is DoD. Kinda means we are about as secure as it’s going to get in the private sector.
We were also told to expect cuts and that “everything is on the table”. There is nobody that is going to be exempt from the effects of this except maybe government employees for now.

We're going to see salaries cut, salaries frozen, hours cut, benefits cut. Karen will be all for the lockdown until her husband has to pay twice as much for his share of the employee-sponsored health insurance.

Op I have used this talking point before. However lets remember this is jobless claims, which typically includes $800/week. Lots of part time workers claiming reduced hours
