Were they both tenure track faculty at ULM? If so, I doubt they had any serious money problems. Maybe they didn't have enough extra to fund Miss Survivor's lavish vacation plans, but a PhD in whatever is fine financially, if you can actually get a job in academia.

She was looking for work on her LinkedIn.

Think this is money.

Maybe so. One associate professor's salary is pretty borderline for a family, if they aspire to anything other than the most basic of lifestyles.

Look on her LinkedIn... she is currently working for her father's company. She has that she's looking for something else in her related field.

The Dad smoked the son in law over domestic abuse.

What a sad thread. I can't imagine reading all the speculation based on pretty much no evidence if I were a family member.

Any kids ? Guy did something that enraged the Dad. He did it to his daughter or grand kids. He killed him and then offed himself so the family didn’t have to suffer through a trial with it all coming out.

Your assumptions are assumptions. A better approach IMO would be to delay judgment. If you need to rush to judgment, then blame the person doing the killing. If you were avenging abuse then I think killing yourself would be unlikely. It would certainly be unnecessary.

Does Monroe not have a morgue/coroner/medical examiner that they need to send the deceased to Little Rock?

Many parishes lack a forensic pathologist or other physician qualified and willing to perform autopsies and endure the PITA of testifying in court if a case goes to trial.

Several parishes have sent bodies to Little Rock, Jackson, or Dallas at times.

Here's an article from The Shreveport Times that talks about the issue. Local bodies shipped for autopsies
