So they are going to put checkpoints at every two-bit country road?

Why are you laughing? It’s in the executive order. What else are DPS doing right now? Is it not in the state’s/municipalities’ interest to check up on people entering the state/cities?

It is specifically NOT their right to basically blockade interstate traffic. So what if we respond with an equally asinine executive order blocking traffic from Texas from passing through our state? Think about the effect such a measure would have on interstate commerce.
We have this thing called the Constitution.

Is this the thread where a bunch of Louisiana baws who were cheering forced quarantines for New Yorkers two days ago become constitutional law experts and argue how unfair Texas is being?

But it's ok for millions of Mexicans to go to Texas so they can claim how many "jobs" Texas created. Using cheap labor to weaken our country. Half of school age kids in Texas or now hispanic. Nice job Texas. And I love the guys with the Astros logo on this site ! Cheating, immoral, win at any cost, pathetic fans. See you on the football field next time ! Governor still sore at the whoopin LSU put on UT and the Aggies. Doesn't matter, within 40 years the people of Texas will vote to succeed and join Mexico.

When are they officially starting this? I've heard noon but have soon nothing officially confirming this.

There was a lot of media misinformation right after this went public. People thought they couldn’t travel to/from Texas or that they would be arrested trying to enter if they are from Louisiana. All he’s saying is that if you are from Louisiana and you travel to Texas and plan to stay for 14 days or longer, then he’s asking you to self-isolate, which is what people are supposed to be doing now. It also applies to Texas residents who have been to any of the “hot spot” locations. He’s not blocking any interstates, although it could cause some slow downs if they stop every car even for a minute to give them the quarantine form.

Well, every major news site is promoting this "misinformation" now.
It is being reported that Texas State troopers will be patrolling and stopping all drivers coming into TX from LA on I10.
They are to provide self isolation locations and if they are sick they are to be escorted to a location
1000 dollar fines for leaving isolation

So I'm heading to the lease in West Texas to turkey hunt. How many times will I be stopped? And if I fake that I'm sick, will they escort me all the way out there? Great, as long as I can stop at the Buc-ee's in Bastrop for gas and a chopped bbq beef sandwich.

Are they intending to stop every car? I just don’t see how that is possible. I envision it much more like DUI checkpoints, where a random number of people (or an overly suspicious person) are stopped.
I suppose that people with Louisiana plates and aren’t driving 18 wheelers are in that group of being “suspicious”.

I have no idea. It's all absurd. There is no real way to enforce this imo
