We are having to write letters for each employee that crosses the state line, each day. And considering one of our branches is in Texarkana, that is going to be a lot of letters.

So I have a client coming to my sober living next week from Texas. Family doesn’t want to bring him to LA bc they think they’ll have to quarantine coming back into Texas. So they want me to pick him up in Texas bring him back to Lafayette. How’s that going to work etc? I don’t have to stay in Texas obvis?

Can you just put together a form letter and change the name/date as necessary?

What about keeping one's chemo appointment at MD Anderson? Sorry, but your state is run by knee-jerk imbeciles....
Medical activity doesn't count either. Way to be knee-jerk and fire off smartass remarks without reading first.

If not tracked and enforced.. just wishful thinking.
Half my employees drive from Texas, client provided letters that state employees are "essential personnel".
Same as when Rita hit...

I interpreted that as transport of goods. You could be right.
Yeah I'm sure that's the main intent, but traveling for work could still qualify or be deemed essential. I think the governor's order specifically mentioned personal travel needing the quarantine.

"This order to self-quarantine shall not apply to people traveling in connection with commercial activity, military service, emergency response, health
response, or critical-infrastructure functions, as may be determined by the Texas Division of Emergency Management."
Perhaps you should actually read shite before calling folks out. Again, your governor is a knee-jerk imbecile.

Yes, I think so. Today is day one of this but Texas seems to want to help.
We’re still trying to figure out Florida and their take on what’s essential...

So if I’m in Texas and travel back home to Louisiana will I be stopped and checked

health response,
Would seem to include medical activity, at least to me.

It's comically stupid if they think this has an impact on the virus spreading throughout Texas. If he wants to worry about something then worry aobut expanding testing. 12% of our tests are coming back positive while 10% of Texas tests are positive. Louisiana has just reported more tests than Texas despite having less than 1/5 the population....
Posted on 3/30/20 at 10:57 am to justsaygeaux2
You actually think they're going to keep someone from going to a chemo appointment? They'll make them fill out the stupid form and say ok just don't go anywhere else. Report back about what actually happens, I'm really interested to know. If they're kept from the appointment (.00001% chance that happens) or made to quarantine in a hotel for 14 days, I'll admit I'm wrong and the policy is imbecillic and the governor is an imbecille.

how does this work with say, a truck driver delivering shite from Florida to Tx. after making a few stops while passing through La. ?

any other texas folks canceling their plans to travel back home to LA for easter? seems like that's easier than going through the hassle of trying to get back into texas. Curious to hear what other Louisiana native people here are going to do for easter.

Bama has quarantined LSU from entering the end zone at Tiger Stadium for years.

Commercial activity does not apply.
If not buying insurance and growing your own pot are interstate commerce, there is no way "leisure travel" doesn't fit. I really want to see this played out in court.

That's true. That's why LSU decided to go to the endzone 6 times at Bryant-Denny a few months back. They were getting antsy.
