Is that why we’re so much better at football down here in the South? Kids play tackle football in the streets down here. Not no two hand touch.

Our really good athletes down here learn to play against the police dogs

Hayden Amphitheater is fantastic.

I usually just stand up paddleboard out on the river for the shows I want to hear but tickets sold out.

Anchor my paddleboard in the middle of the river and drink a beer, listening for free.

Security always yells across the bank but they don’t own the Deschutes River so I don’t move.

Les Claypool (Primus) is coming soon.

The summer brings all the music here.

Huge reggae festival at the end of Summer in Redmond.

Music scene ain’t New Orleans but it ain’t too shabby.

Saw Alabama Shakes and Caamp last year, stayed right there at the Hampton Inn beside it. Avett Bros the year before that, absolutely love that area right on the Deschutes. Still looking for a good restaurant around there though. We did Anthony's last time and wasn't impressed. Primus will be a bad arse show.

Greg’s Grill right there is pretty decent for burgers and dranks.

That area is a little too crowded with tourists.

Strip mall kind of thing so it’s kind of blow and go.

Downtown is where all the real food is.

Wild Rose Thai.
Ken’s Artisanal Pizza.

Et alia.

Did y’all get attacked by an Antifa mob and get called fascists while playing?

Damn, some of you are so out of touch.

Bend is Red as can be.

Huge farms with MAGA signs everywhere.

We like our guns, money, women, mountains, rivers and trees.

In no particular order.

Had some kids all yelling in front of my house tonight. I went out to see what the hell was going on and to yell at clouds. I’m 48. They were playing two handed touch football in the street. Hell yes I mocked them for making all the noise (jokingly) and then just asked them if I could play. We played until we couldn’t see anymore (no street lights). Goddamn, I love America. Bend, Oregon here. Yall been playing foot

Best story I’ve heard on this site in a long long time.

Funny how the simplest times, no money involved, have a ball some dudes and some cheerleaders and a garden hose yet it’s the best 2-3 hours every single time.

We live in a cul-de-sac and are the oldest (late 50's-early 60's).
We strike up a game of our version of stick ball (broom handle and tennis ball) when the kids and grand kids visit. Once outside the other kids in the cul-de-sac come out and join in on the fun.

Now each time our kids/grand kids visit we get texts asking if we're playing ball today. Stick ball in the cul-de-sac is turning into something really cool. Neighbors breaking out lawn chairs and coolers with drinks. A couple of neighbors even brought grills from their backyard and cooked burgers and dogs.

Great memories being made!

Love that entire area - made a stop in Bend on my 3rd motorcycle trip to the western mountains back in 2009.

Stopped for breakfast at a convenient restaurant.

Noticed they had "grits" on the menu.

Asked the waitress if they really had grits - she said "yep - we are from Louisiana!!!"

I grew up in rural Ohio. I’m a yankee. 45 years old.

We played smear the queer and would tackle tf out of one another.

Sometimes in a field.

Sometimes in the street.

Now I live in Utah. Kids def don’t play tackle football.

Two hand touch and flag football were invented to give little guys a chance to compete.

Uh, no it's not. Outside the city it may be, but the city itself? As I said earlier, it's been infested just like Boise has.

Deschutes County went for Harris 53-43 in 2024.
