Technology has removed scarcity. People were happy with who they had before. Now people can see what all is available and they believe they not only can get the very best, but they only want it. Why swipe right on 6s and 7s when there are plenty of 8s and 9s out there (who aren’t swiping back).
But there are a lot of fatter unattractive people these days so there’s that.
