Exactly.

She feels any dollar that isn't spent on only benefiting black people is a wasted dollar. It truly is an aggressively racist mayors office.

I really hope some rich people throw a lot of money at Kip to get him to run again. Last I heard he wasn't interested, but he's got to see all the stuff he accomplished being undone by Broome.

I know he can't stand her or her policies.

No one wants to pay for a $50 round-trip uber ride to downtown when they can go to one of the newer restaurants

Spot on. I'm not adding $40 to my night to go downtown. The best bars in the city are a stone's throw from my home.

They need to improve the areas between it and LSU and connect the two areas somehow. It would generate a lot more interest in living within a few miles of downtown and would drive more foot traffic. It would also make downtown become more attractive to students with daddy's money and young professionals.

It is a shame how quickly BR's historic Highland road turns to shite past the north gate. Once you start to see the fast food chains turn around.

If 3rd street is ever going to be a nice place to go, they are going to need residents living downtown.

There has been a shite load of housing units opening in downtown over the past few years. At least two new hotels too.

I think the demand is for more fast casual restaurants, not bars. The audience is getting older.

yep. that is where the industry is heading, BR has never been a club town. Sorry 1913, you were never going to last. You had too many bars doing the same thing.

Here are your late night food options downtown: Canes, Schlitz & giggles and they are right across the street from each other...

Tin Roof is just on the outskirts of downtown...

I do go to Tin Roof but its just missing the mark when compared to breweries in other cities. There isn't enough indoor seating and the layout is more like a small bar. Theyre trying really hard and I give them lots of credit.

Ive driven to Bayou Teche brewing, an hour away in the middle of nowhere, and its always packed and I have a blast.

I do actually think Blend, River Room, and the bar at Watermark are all pretty cool spots.. but they don't exactly attract crowds either.

cracked down on open containers for a few blocks on 3rd street to target bars owned by people that were not friendly to the Broome administration. That's extremely corrupt if true.

Wut?

Louisiana politicians have conducted more corrupt actions since I started typing this post.

Don't they close at 8?

LL- blend is a really good spot and the food there is good.

The crowd is older than it was 10 years ago - and the added hotel rooms increases the demand for more casual dinner options for business travelers.

Walk-On's would probably do better in one of the hotels downtown than 1913 did where it was.

Broom could also do more to recruit conventions to the city. Holden did a lot more.

Jimmy Johns seems like the antithesis to late night food.

It is garbage any time of day, but I certainly would never want it after a few brews

As opposed to Krystal, which pretty much should only be eaten while completely drunk?

I agree with Blend and Watermark as far as cool spots(never been to River Room). I like that they attract a different crowd than Happys, B&Ts, etc. Their target audience is a more sophisticated group.
