Seriously? That's awesome. Good for them. I had heard they were still closed. I will edit my previous post.

they had just started allowing outside dining. But it’s been shut back down completely and back on 10pm curfew

Love the photo of Saint Peter and Paul's Catholic Church in North Beach. Like every other first-generation Italian-American born in the Bay Area, I was baptized, made my first communion, confirmation, was married, and most likely have my funeral there.

Try the Slanted Door. Excellent Vietnamese/colonial French food.

Great post as always but I hope you were just putting us on about your involvement with Glide Church. That place is a bastion of Marxism and I guarantee you they are not truly believers

Friends,

oatmeal, bars are bad places and should not be included in any list. I realize I made one exception on Veterans Blvd, but that sign could not be denied. The picture you posted may conjure good memories for you, but the sign is lackluster.

Lazy, does Frommers care about signs?

Hype, I was not yet born when that was released.

Vista, always a pleasure to hear from you.

Mikearch, the sign at Lombardi is not very high interesting. We did both walk it and drive it.

Oweo and Legion, SS and I unfortunately did not rendezvous, due to the pandemic. Once we get the vaccine we will.

Gizmothepug, we pray and work hard at everything we do. Life is no time for rest and leisure.

Fallguy, it really is not a large budget.

James1111, continue the good fight, peacefully, of course.

Fut, always an honor that you might engage in these words. Perhaps in a better season we might share adjoining rooms at the Fairmont.

Choupique, thank you. That is quite an honor from such a scholar as you.

Butch, bars are no good and only harm individuals, families, and communities.

Bee Rye, he is indeed, a great asset to our community. One call, he does it all.

Head slash, Mother thanks you for your prayers.

RLDSC, thank you.

WheninRome, Bibles are a good gift no matter the occasion.

SS, I look forward to it.

SirWinston, it is an interesting congregation to say the least.

Yours,
TulaneLSU

Friend,

While a beautiful sign, it is not one of my favorite ten. Mother and I just returned yesterday from a five day stay in San Francisco, truly one of the world’s great cities. I hope to give a full report soon.

Yours,
TulaneLSU

I fell in love with San Francisco in the early 80s and have pretty much done everything you discussed during many trips over the years.

Sadly, based on my last trip there, it is nothing like is used to be and not sure I will return.

Liberalism is a disease and San Francisco’s is in hospice.

Ps … you forget to mention the Filbert Steps. One of the finest community gardens you will ever set your eyes upon!

Great efforts with your posts. I also remember my trips to Vesuvios dive bar/"beat cafe", which captured the culture of the '50's - '60's.
