Friend,
I disagree completely. It is not one of the top 10 cities in the continental U.S. of America to visit:
10. Pittsburg
9. Nashville
8. San Francisco
7. Annapolis
6. Boulder
5. Asheville
4. Boston
3. Washington DC
2. New York
1. New Orleans
I would put Portland as a Top 10 worst U.S. city to visit currently. The food has been terrible, worse than Chicago. Most of the people I have met in Portland are rude and impersonal. Though the weather is nice now, it is remarkably bad for the majority of the year. It is dirty. Drugs are a major problem and drug deals are visible throughout town. I do not recommend Portland as a destination for travel any time soon.
Yours,
TulaneLSU

A lot of anti federal government signs. Yet in reality they likely vote for massive government expansion.
They aren't anti-government
They are anti-the government that doesn't fit in with their ideals of stifling free speech and eliminating political ideologies that conflict with theirs by any means possible, and hopefully violent means by killing those that have more material possessions than them
If the government aligned with their ideals they would be the most pro-government people on the planet

I kept waiting for one of your classic signature pics with TulaneLSU spray painted into the side of a federal building

And it's this demographics of Portland protesting for BLM
Meanwhile in New Orleans, this is the racial makeup of the city
We all might as well be fighting for Pacific Islanders lives.

Friend,
The best pizza in Portland is Apizza Scholls, as I listed them in TulaneLSU's Top 40 pizzas in the USA. However, in the summer, their pizza is decidedly not as good as in the winter. I blame this on the humidity. The pizza makers are masters of making good dough when it is humid, but in the summer, when the air is dry, they are working from a new, unfamiliar slate. Their dough and crust suffer as a result.
Mother and I split two pizzas, the Margherita and then the Paulie Gee. The Paulie Gee was significantly better, and its toppings were top class. The Margherita was very disappointing and I ended up giving it to a man on the street who was begging for food.
Paulie Gee: Ricotta and honey balance the soppressata. The ample basil post-bake and garlic give it flavors of the old country. It is delicious, even if the crust was not as good as during humid months.
Margherita
The one benefit of the current times is that it was no problem getting the pizzas for takeout. You would often have to call hours ahead, and many times, they would sell out. This time, we were able to call and drive there, which is about twenty minutes from downtown. It was ready when we arrived. Prices are still expensive, but it's a quality pie.
As for other suggestions, I have tried a few food trucks, at the recommendation of others. I have been entirely disappointed. Voodoo Donuts is not close to as good as Tastee Donuts. There is one fun looking donut shop I considered trying, but Mother said it would mess up my blood sugar after eating 1.25 18" pizzas. She would not allow me, so I cannot report on it.

tLSU,
Could you list the top ten Fascist statues still standing in Portland? I’m about to head out with my commie Antifa friends.
Thanks,

Why This Revolution Isn't Like the 60's
quote:
The result was that 1960s student radicals graduated without much debt and for all their hipness could enter a booming economy with marketable skills. Today's angry graduates owe a collective $1.6 trillion in student loan debt -- much of it borrowed for mediocre, therapeutic and politicized training that does not impress employers.
College debt impedes maturity, marriage, child-raising, home ownership and the saving of money. In other words, today's radical is far more desperate and angry that his college gambit never paid off.
