There’s also a crewboat running as a makeshift ferry
Hard pass. I’ve ridden too many of those things over the years.

unfortunately the fischer projects is too close to that area for me to be living there. My first job out of college was in the Entergy building. I had to drive through those projects everyday. I just made sure it was always daylight. I ended up taking my moms ford tempo to try to blend in.
But they do have a hidden gem across the street from the entergy building in a restaurant called the dry dock. Got a damn good seafood gumbo.

Sorry that you're feeling down, I'll lift you up in prayer.
Why do they coil the rope in that flat, circular fashion?
Did your Mother find you? I fear your disappearance made her anxious.
Do you ever put flowers on Rex's grave?

I recently moved back to New Orleans from Houston. My fiance and I ended up buying a house in Old Gretna. I was disappointed to learn that the Gretna Ferry stopped running quite some time ago (never spent much time on westbank), as our house isnt very far from it.
We do plan on utilizing the Algiers Ferry for large events in the city however, maybe we'll see you on board one day.
We have spent a day in Algiers Point, and you're right, certainly an underrated area in the city.

this is objectively the worst place in da point
the owners, carol and ronnie, just sit at the bar and get hammered every night. the bartenders are all drug addicts and the food is abysmal
although the old-timers out there say back in the day, that place was great
if anyone wants good food in the point, go to Facebook and look up, "appetite repair shop"
profoundly gay name but the food is fuego
edit: damn so nice he posted thrice

Serious Question. 18-20 years ago I was married to a Wanker from Gretna. We rode the ferry a few times a year. An old black man went by the name "RollCall" was always riding it. He was not a bum per se as he wouldn't ask for money. But he was clearly an old drunk and I shared some beer with him once.
Anyone else remember him? Is he still around there by chance?

Fischer was the first projects to be cleaned up. Only Gusteis still like it was, the others have been project gentrified.
