Friend,
Your story is good enough that when I reached the top 10 signs, I realized I had forgotten all about the list. I was just reading a story.

These threads have to be some of the weirdest on TD...and we have a whole damn board dedicated to people that like Soccer.

Friend,
And not one mention of the well known DeLuxe Laundry at 5325 Canal?
The famous laundry where our beloved mayor Mitch Landrieu would bring his wardrobe as well as New Orleans Hornets coach, Byron Scott.
I guess I cannot be too disappointed- I once brought a woolen Brooks Brothers suit there after a night on the town, and apparently the glitter that some ladies apply to their bodies is unremovable with modern techniques- so I did not return.

I used to use Ace on prytania, when I lived uptown. I loved the girls and they loved me. They would always give me lint rollers for Christmas.
Ever since I moved from there, it’s been hit or miss. Dry cleaning is serious business with me. I rack up about 70-100/week.
I just started using Distinctive in Belle Chasse and I love their prices. Last week, they over starched my shite and I was aggravated. I spoke with the manager about it. She seemed to get the point.
Any places recommended in Algiers, Gretna or belle chasse?

Friends,
Near the end of my letter to you I added a few paragraphs about the history of cleaners in New Orleans, including a bit about Charles Tung, the Al Copeland of laundry. Every New Orleanian should know the name Charles Tung.
Green Rock Tiger, we use Q Lee because they are consistent and fair. It is convenient for us also, so long as we go during the day.
Skinner, we were never an ACE family. The sign does not make my heart sing either, thus, it was not included.
Silvera, each of us is a meteorite. No matter the height from which we start or reach, we all fall short of the glory and eventually crash to the ground. These are the wages of sin. For the time being, let us join Mr. Cage, and let us ride.
USMeagles and Springlake, it is Young's in Lakeview, which is next to a Tastee, which is not very good. If only all the Tastees were like the one on Loyola in Kenner. The one on Broad isn't bad, but the Kenner one is best.
kywildcatfanone, as you can see in my picture, New Orleanians love their cleaners and we even tailgate and dance at them. The photo of Toy's was taken just before the covid outbreak.
MrWalkingMan, if there was a Top 11, Cleanerama would make it.
Sal Minio, I have not, but Mother has.
BrotherEsau, you are too kind.
subMOA, DeLuxe's sign just is not quite there. I am sorry.
buttocks, I am not a police officer, why? I am hopeful your Belle Chasse connection improves and lives up to your high expectations.
Yours,
TulaneLSU

Friend,
I can accept that the sign is not a shining star amongst those provided on your list. Nevertheless, I implore that you visit the establishment as it has been part of the Lower Garden District community for quite some time. The people who work there are honest with their work and provide a fine service. It could perhaps be a place that you have your caroling suit laundered for the coming Christmas season? I live in the the area and would be happy to have you and Mother over for a cup of hot chocolate while your clothes are being laundered.
In prayer,
Skinner

Dear Friend,
I shall sample ACE's dry cleaning this year and will, if you remind me, report back to you. My caroling outfit is already laundered, so it may be after Christmas. Your invitation is warmly received. As Mother and I are beginning to fear the spread of Covid-19 once again, we will most likely decline the offer this year. We hope, in good season, and with a vaccine, to visit and enjoy your hot chocolate next Advent. We so look forward to it!

Friend,
There is something about avoiding a cleaners if the outside looks dingy. I can overlook a restaurant for some reason but not a cleaners.
