TulaneLSU's picture journey through the Audubon Zoo

Dear Friends,
The tension between friends on TigerDroppings has never been higher. Go to work versus stay at home. Cheap oil versus expensive oil. Hydroxycholoroquine versus remdesivir. Jordan versus Krause. Nurses versus school teachers. Dogs versus gators. The disappearance of OWEO. The updwelling of general public discord has perhaps not been so great since the start of Ghostbusters 2.
I, like you, am distraught at the rumors of Neiman Marcus closing. Who can forget those perfect popovers, chicken broth, and the $250 chocolate chip cookies, which make a run at Great Grandmother's Calliope chocolate chip cookies.. They were so good, in fact, one time when Mother brought me a box of the cookies from a Dallas spree, nothing would stop me from eating them.
She left them open with a note for me. I was at school and it was to be a surprise when I got home. Apparently, Mother walked into the kitchen where a whole army of cockroaches were stacked high devouring the cookies. Mother, and this is all from Ms. Mae's telling, "screetched like a possum getting its tail chopped off."
Mother threw out the cookies, tying them up tight and triple bagging them. When I got home, she explained what happened. As soon as the coast was clear, though, I fished those cookies out the garbage. No cockroaches were going to separate me from Neiman Marcus $250 chocolate chip cookies.
I tell that story because these are hard times wrought with a lot of anger and fear. Although I hoped to include these pictures in a story about Audubon Zoo, I feel obligated to share with pictures without a story. Maybe some of these pictures will smooth some edges and cool some tempers. Perhaps you could illustrate some of the pictures with your own stories.
TulaneLSU's picture journey through the Audubon Zoo:
Friends,
All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful,
The Lord God made them all.
Faith, Hope, and Love,
TulaneLSU

Dear TulaneLSU,
Thank you for these wornderful pictures. They have brought joy to my morning to see God’s gifts to us. We are the stewards of the animals, and clearly we are doing a great job with these beautiful specimens.
Keep up the Lord’s work here on TD.
Yours in Christ,
Upperdecker

He’s alive. He emailed (I don’t know how he got it) me to tell me to tell all the posters admins that he’s going to kick their asses until his shoes are scuffed.
He said “when no one is making up any terrible stories that didn’t happen and it’s only KungFlu and WYHI threads, you’ll miss having me to push around.”

Honoring self ban?

Nothing more relaxing than sitting on my front porch and hearing the chimpanzees (I assume) and seals making mating noises on a warm spring night. On a side note, since CV shutdown I’ve noticed the Guinea fowls have become more adventures and some have made their way all the way to Alma Peters Park on Annunciation and Eleanor. Like many of us dealing with the stress of CV lockdown our new normal becoming more nomadic in search for our daily essentials.
