To understand groceries in America, one must understand the groceries at these two stores. If you would like to help in gathering actual weights of Sam's Club snow and king crab and their listed weights, I will gladly deputize you. The more Sam's Clubs for which we have evidence of incorrect weights, the more credence to our cause and story.

toff, I too have a Business Membership, one of the most exclusive and valuable memberships in America. Getting your shopping done before 9:30 is key to efficient trips to Sam's. Walmart before 10:00 is also very quiet, and I very much pleasure walking in the aisles of a quiet Walmart.

Hammerhead, I have many mixed feelings about Rouse's. The last time I went to the one in Mid-City, I arrived five minutes after closing. Unwittingly, I had forgotten that the Redbox from which I rented Beasts of the Southern Wild, a most unusual fantasy was inside the closed doors. I saw the manager locking the doors, and I politely asked if I could drop off the DVD, or risk being charged another night. He refused. That was 2012, and I have not been in Rouse's since. Perhaps, though, if it would help your shopping efforts, I could return.

MrLSU, I do not like dollar stores. They are leeches and participate in the creation and spread of food deserts. I will not participate in that study.

Philter, we get our chickens from a farm in Mississippi. I do not like the chicken at Sam's or Walmart or any grocery for that matter. The chickens I have seen on that farm are running around all the day long.

Tarps, casinos are, like dollar stores, cancers but of a much more insidious nature. I am torn on visiting one of their buffets. On the one hand, I do not want to enter and be seen in a casino. On the other hand, I know that I can eat fifteen pounds of snow crab legs at one sitting. Market price for snow crab legs is $8-12 a pound right now, which would mean I could cost a casino to lose well over $100 by eating in one of their buffets. I shall pray for an answer.

Jake88, we all have a job: to glorify God and enjoy him forever, as the great Catechism teaches us. Spreading the Gospel of our Savior is the greatest promotion any of us could ever hope to receive. And it is freely given! Mother would like me to start earning a paycheck again. She says it would be good for me. I may return to the St. Charles Ave. rails, and if I do, look for the conductor giving lectures in a Meyer the Hatter conductor's hat. GreenRockTiger, I visit many different Sam's Clubs. I have shopped at the one in Slidell, Kenner, Metairie, Baton Rouge, and Shreveport. I have also been to the one in Mobile, Pensacola, Langhorne, PA, and a few in Tennessee. My favorite location is Kenner, but we usually go to the one in Metairie. Please note, I do not refer to them as snowcones, as you once suggested. I call them snoballs.

Obtuse1, yes, Mother actually donated my F-350 tour bus. Perhaps with a steady income from the streetcars, I will be able to save up for one again.

Basura, Mother drives a Mercedes, which I do not like. It is a show of ostentatiousness and German. Each day I urge her to donate it and get a more humble vehicle.

BHM, we should consider getting a shopping club organized. The OT Grocery Club could be our name and we could shop together at a set time and day of the week.

Pfft, Evangeline Maid bread is not anathema to me. However, when they suggest the buns they are selling are poorboy loaves, I draw the line.

Festus, Mother once threatened to withhold dinner from me if I did not stop calling it mootz-ah-rell. I do not pronounce the A at the end either. It was an empty bluff.

Delacroix, time is one of our greatest gifts. Anyone could post such a survey if he or she spent just a couple of hours. Is it not worth it? I encourage more posters to consider what they post here and donate to the greater public a full wealth of conviction. If one spends three or four hours watching a game of adults playing a children's game, he is considered one of the boys. But if another spends the same time organizing a thought into something that may be of even small value to another he has never met, he is considered on the spectrum. I do not understand the values of today.
