This is why we need to know the height of his ceiling

ETA: I wasn't clear in my explanation, but I see what you're saying. 52>41, but I think he can angle it into the doorway by tilting the top of the box backwards at the same time...but to tilt the box the ceiling might get in the way if it's too low

The ceiling is high enough that it won't matter. The door dimensions and the width of the hall should be all we need in addition to the dimensions of the item IMO.

Get it thru doorway on side, then flip up and pull it on a blanket through hall.

problem I fear is the width of the hallway. If the hall didn't exist, yeah this thing just turns on its side and walks right in.

I don't think you're describing it well enough...the hall is wider than the door, according to your info

the way to get a sofa into a back bedroom is:

you put one end by the doorway

then lift the other end about 45 degree angle and twist the sofa as needed to turn through the doorway

note - remove cushions and unscrew the legs first

This object sounds heavy.

I'd just pay someone to do it and hold them responsible for any damage.

I'd get a piece of cardboard 85 x 22 and use it to get a better idea of what you're up against. Might have to tape a few pieces together but holding it and visualizing 52 dimension should give you a good idea if it will work.

Trying to figure this out on paper seems almost impossible.

eta, the math seems impossible, not the actual task. I bet that bitch will fit.

where's this door located in the hallway? middle or end?

Where's the door located in the room? middle of a wall? alcove? corner?

I still say it won't fit.

on it's side 22" wide, ok thats fine
length is 85" and height is 52"
So you slide it all the way out the door, not even counting for door jamb you've got 44" still in the room.

Now you need to lift from the hall end, but only have 28" between the top and the top door jamb. When you lift it up 2 ft you aren't going to be very far from the wall opposite of the door. Thus have very little room to move it further into the hall. Before it gets all the way out to bottom side of the object in the hall will be pinned against the hall and the top side of the object will be pinned against the top of the doorway.

I've done similar with much smaller items, like a fridge, and had trouble getting it to work.

There should be some geometry type math that helps solve the problem. Hard to explain it via text.
