The problem is people like him have ceded the moral high ground to the angry mob. Therefore, the actions of said mob are justified in his eyes. It doesn't matter what they go after. There must be a reason right?
The reason has been clearly defined to usher equality & ease the tension between races.

What is next...……….

1. They will want to burn All Plantation homes in the South. Don't laugh. It is coming.

2. They will want to tear down the Steve Gleason & Tom Benson statues in front of the Superdome as they are both white.

So erasing the name of a man that saw the error in his was and changed is a good way to do that?

They won’t burn them. They want to own them. It’s not about equality. It’s about power

Nutria were imported from South America to Louisiana for mass slaughter. I'm offended by your trivialization of mass genocide.

Why don't we help them find things to be offended by with these "What's next" posts.

Idolize him in another manner so that people who actually care about him can still idolize him. It's not erasing. It is moving.

I think you mean nobody cared until an old arse letter was dug up and now all of a sudden a bunch of snowflakes care about the name.

That’s a euphemism at best. You know this is a power play and not about actually being offended because if it was, they would have chosen someone different.

The majority of these rednecks, like High C, aren't trying to preserve history. They are just uppity because the scary black man is fiddling with their views of white supremacy.

Doesn’t agree with me. Must be a white supremacist.

That means the movement should eventually go after Martin Luther King, right?

He was a womanizer (cheating on his wife frequently) and once allegedly encouraged the continuation of a rape he witnessed.

Clearly this man is no hero worthy of praise. After all, this is about equality!

You can call it a power play from both sides if you want. Rednecks are getting upset because their white "power" is being threatened. They aren't concerned about preserving history. They are concerned about POC getting their way with anything.

If it eases tension across a society, what difference does it make? You're going to see the tension gradually ease as Boomers & Xers start fading away.
