Did I just watch a pill commercial for gays and trannies?

It's given to doctors and nusrses, etc, who get an accidental needle stick from a high risk patient

No doctors in the commercial. Just dudes hugging dudes and dudes dressed like chicks.
I guess it would be an odd commercial if a guy with AIDS chased down a doctor and stabbed him with a needle only to have the screen fade to black with a background choir suddenly shouting in harmony “TRUVADA!” As its pink logo slaps on the screen

My dad flipped his shite when he saw that commercial. And he's pretty liberal.
HIV and I guess a lot. I'm glad there's something to prevent the spread of disease but damn.

HIV seems like one of those things you would actually do some research into when you get the diagnosis. I doubt there’s many guys out there in the recliner saying “Hey Carlos, guess what? There is something we can take after all. I just saw the commercial.”

The manufacturer of Truvada is going to be criticized whether they market it truthfully or not. They will offend one crowd or the other. It’s so silly. I appreciate them being honest about their target market. All my Truvada patients are homosexual men.
It’s a great drug...up to 99% effective at preventing HIV infection. Science is awesome.

My friend's very straight teenage Son just informed his parents he is HIV+....maybe the target market should be bigger.
You crotch jockeys do know that the fastest growing segment of HIV cases is among straight women of childbearing age....right? and Louisiana, and Baton Rouge, are among the leaders in those new cases, right? You may want to get a script.....
