Another brilliant move by our president.
Billery would probably have fed them explosive bowel burritos from Taco Bell.

Thanks, the more you know! Guilty of not diving deep enough. Based on that a fully legit solution.
I guess. Also could have been a great time to give the spotlight to one of the million local eateries in his city. Or hell, get his own hotel to cater it.
I like to give people the benefit of the doubt and I do think he probably just made the wrong call and is out of touch.. but it’s still kinda shitty. I mean, the food isn’t even in warmers in the photo.
To the person who said 18-22 year olds don’t want to sit at some fancy dinner.. that’s just as out of touch as Trump. They’re ~20, not 11. I’m sure they’d love the hell out of a nice dinner in the WH.. not the Wendy’s 4 for 4. Many of these dudes aren’t far off from being plenty rich playing professional football. You certainly see plenty young NFL players having fancy dinners. Not sure why you’d assume they’re children who can’t sit still at the table.
I don’t know why it’s a big enough deal to have warranted so much press, however. Just an old man who misread age. Isn’t the end of the world.

There is something disturbingly appealing about a veritable fast food buffet. Especially if I put myself into my 20 year old mindset.

So the people who work in the white house don't work when there is a shut down? I thought people were still working, they just wasn't getting paid (but will get what they are owed once there is no more shut down
Its a great gesture on Trump's part even if symbolic something like "you people are not going to get paid right now due to my shutdown, so go home and take it easy, I can manage here for now."

When our summer intern was finished with his assignment, our manager too him and all of us that worked with him to a fancy seafood restaurant. While most ordered, redfish, shrimp, or steak, he ordered........a cheeseburger.
Don't assume everyone is looking for a fancy feast

It's pretty comical that you post this nonsense and accuse trump of being out of touch.

Am I crazy to think that Clemson would get some sort of say in this? Maybe that is what the players wanted?
According to Tee Higgins...the players thought it was a joke. They absolutely were expecting fine dining in the White House.

I couldn't care less about what Trump serves to a WH visitor, but while the topic is being discussed, a cold fast food buffet is something that would excite an elementary school class. Seems a bit out of touch to assume 18-21 year olds would be excited over Wendy's.? Of course, Trump hasn't been that age or had one of his own children that age in quite some time now. He probably assumed "teen boys with big appetites
I think it has less to do with being excited for the food as it has to do with making a comfortable and fun experience for them.
Honestly is there any kind of food one would be excited to eat?

Except for not wanting to touch anything that the scum Lincoln might have touched, I am walking in a direction until someone says stop. Turning around and walking in another direction until someone says stop. Eating fast food? I don't do that when I am traveling. Gross

I’m surprised that Clemson’s White House visit happened so quickly. Normally it happens in like February or March.

I love all the down votes from the window-lickers. I was sick of eating fast food as a young adult. I ate that 4 for 4 because it would fill me up as a poor college student, not because I enjoyed it.

Would Five Guys or Shake Shack make them nervous?

No... would still be fast food.
The difference is a formal, sit down dinner vs casual

Yes, they are. I have a friend who is apologizing profusely all over facebook for the President's choice of cuisine. This is my response to that
