actually a smart symbolic gesture, gubment shut down, people not getting paychecks and the guy wants to throw an elaborate gala for a bunch of over pampered, semi literate meatheads?

You have a high opinion of Trump and molded your logic based on that

How about somewhere between bottom tier fast food and elaborate?

When our summer intern was finished with his assignment, our manager too him and all of us that worked with him to a fancy seafood restaurant. While most ordered, redfish, shrimp, or steak, he ordered........a cheeseburger.

Don't assume everyone is looking for a fancy feast

What would you have thought if your manager took him to Burger King?

It's dumb as hell and a bad look. But really this is way overblown.

It does make for some iconic pictures though

how the frick do you come up with that? it is a smart move, for more than one reason, also, no one is pointing out that if you have an invite to the White House to meet the prez, what's on the menu is way down the list, also, these meetings don't last very long, and the prez certainly doesn't usually hang around very long, and then for security reasons, the guests can't just lounge around and hang at the White House, ushered out pretty quickly

I'm just saying it takes a certain amount of mental gymnastics to conclude that it's a good idea to feed people burger king when they visit the white house. I mean that's just absolute bottom of the barrel food. Even chick fila or popeyes or five guys or something would make a huge difference

Because there are ways to provide better food at similar prices when buying in bulk. Hell he could've catered it from his restaurant down the road from the WH

Eta

I'm not mad about it. Just saying it looks really tacky

Trump could've fed them Kobe beef and Caviar and he'd still be criticized to no end.

They would have lost their shite no matter what he did. That’s the issue.

The media is SO vehemently opposed to him, because he beat them, that they have lost any and all objectivity.

And I can’t stand fast food.

I’ll tear up a spicy McChicken and a Chalupa though

Could you imagine the audacity if he included FRIED CHICKEN? To a team with black players on it? Despite it being delicious and damn near universally enjoyed in the US across all races and cultures?

The media would have absolutely EXPLODED.
