True. I always forget this.
I've never done it, never came close. But I don't see what difference it makes if you still do your job and it doesn't impact you.
One of the pharmacists, I had NO IDEA he did it, until a co-worker house-sat for him and went through all his stuff. Then when said co-worker got fired, he told all the secrets.
But did that impact the guy's ability to do his job, just cause he liked to smoke a bit in his free time? Not from what I could tell.
People get drunk Friday night and still walk in at 8am Monday morning..is smoking weed really so different?
FWIW, I don't think I would ever smoke if it were legal. But if they had marijuana Oreos, I could be persuaded.
Also, budget crisis would be GONE!

I find that recognition of self-ownership, and therefore the right to ingest whatever one pleases, is far more effective than arguing about effects.

Much less testing for most jobs. Operating heavy equipment, driving a truck will always be in play for testing. Do you really care if the guy in the next office or cubicle smokes a joint to relax like you drink a glass or two of wine?

That's how it's classified, isn't it?

That's a bingo.
Lumber, Petroleum, and Textiles banded together and got it outlawed.
When the original vote was cast to outlaw "Marijuana" most senators thought it was a new drug causing a plague on the youth. They had no idea that the term Marijuana was made up and in fact encompassed the entire hemp industry.
Hemp can be made into:
Sails stronger than anything else
Clothes stronger than cotton and polyester.
Paper stronger than tree pulp
Lumber stronger than generic press board and contractor grade
Fabrics stronger and more resilient than current textiles.
Also, Hemp oil can be made into plastics safer for both humans and the environment than petroleum.
Virtually every common household petroleum jelly based product can be produced by hemp oil.
The drug itself derived from a very small subsection of the plants, can be used to:
Cure headaxhes
Cure nausea
Alleviate chemotherapy pain
Possibly help fight cancer
Alleviate minor aches and pains
Soothe muscle pains and cramps
And the list goes on and on.
As a recreational drug, it is impossible to overdose on. That's a fact. It is not physically adicitive either. People can die and have sever health issues when they go into withdrawals from alchoholism, nicotine, caffeine, heroine, cocaine, etc.....
But not weed. Not ever.

As a reefer lover and trump hater, this is the position I expected him to take. The medicinal benefits are obvious to anyone that isn't wearing blinders, and he's noncommittal on legalization.
He's a business man. He saw a billion industry develop in one state overnight. He's about making money. There's a shite ton of cash still being controlled by a black market. He may be an a-hole, but he's not a fool.

Why?
Anyone who wants to smoke weed is doing it now and I bet most employers are smart enough to realize that. Legalization won't drastically increase usage.

Exactly. If it was legal why test for it unless there is an accident? It is the only time alcohol is tested for.

Dude should publicly favor the legalization of it. He'd immediately have the support of Bernie's crowd. Doesn't take much to catch their attention.

How is introducing a multi-billion dollar industry a bad thing for the country?
We don't make shite here anymore.
Every day another huge company gets sold to overseas entities, many of them government backed by countries that are not our friends.
Our economic strength is growing weaker with every real estate deal with the Chinese and every conglomerate that moves it's HQ'rs overseas to evade tax liabilities.
Keep the retail shops/dispensaries at a mom and pop level, keeping corporate greed and their buying power out of the market. Create jobs, land I can't grow anything on suddenly becomes something I can extract 6 figures out of.
Crime decreases, DWI's decrease, opiate addiction and pill factory doctors and big pharma loses their grip on the public, the heroin trade plummets, the hard drug trade plummets, gun violence tied to the black market drug trade plummets.
Is there anything else left for this country to take advantage of that could create a massive shift in wealth and give people a chance to revive the American Dream?
A multi-billion dollar infusion into the GDP is possible w/ legalization, what else can produce that?

damn, sonnn...I like to smoke as much as the next guy, but that is quite a bit of bullshite all packed into a single post...
I'm not a user, I just know that if it was available for my mom her death from cancer would have been a little more bearable for her and myself.
When you consider the possibilities and think out of the box a little bit, it makes a lot of sense to make the cash grab and let people be adults and choose for themselves how to live their lives.
Prohibition and the excessive criminalization is retarded.
