msutiger cannot comprehend english.

He believes that saying "I sure hope it would be possible for football to be played in the fall" is the same thing as saying "I believe it should be played in the fall" or "I plan on recommending it be played in the fall".

Many are rooting against Trump. It's not possible to keep our economy shutdown until late this year. If we do then suicides and crimes will reach insane levels.

If cases don't flatten out soon then we have to consider opening the economy back open by May or early June at the latest.

Approximately 50% of people end up getting no symptoms who test positive based off a few studies. Is it really worth it?

Trump isn’t just some fan or a reporter. He’s the president of the United States. His words mean more. He has to understand when he says something like that, a lot of people are going to take it to mean exactly what this thread title says. Look at how it’s being reported.
Well, you are applying to him words that he did not say.

quote:

"I HOPE IT IS POSSIBLE for the nfl to start on time with fans in stands".
That is what he said.

Look pussy, the PROBLEM IS YOU if you truly think "I hope it would be possible for nfl to start on time with fans in stands" is anything but a meaningless, hopeful, innocuous hopeful statement.

He isn't predicting it will happen. He isn't recommending to do it. He is expressing a HOPE. He also qualifies it with "if possible"...aka if birx and fauci say it isn't possible, the it isn't.

Trump has listened to birx and fauci every step of the way.

I look at Twitter and many are bashing Trump saying this. September is about 5 months away and we will surely be almost done with the curve and have significantly better resources to fight it by then.

Are some people that into fear-mongering that they would bash even this?

NFL and College football just can't start in September. There's months of prep and logistics that have to happen that can't occur if people can't be at work.

You people are delusional if you think it will sit well with people if nfl and cfb are cancelled.

It's a religion for a huge chunk of Americans.

I am telling you guys right now: public support for lockdowns is going to dwindle if it keeps on being extended. People understand the need for 2 months of lockdown to protect hospitals from the initial surge. They will not go along with a half year lockdown.

It is an unreasonable request. If lockdowns are the panacea that the scientists claim they are, they shouldn't be required for 6 months.

Who the hell is even saying this? And for the record, nobody is, or should, be happy with the economy suffering the way it is. Problem is reality is reality. What does it matter if it "sits well" with people?

I think you will start seeing civil unrest if the lockdown extends into the fall

You are already seeing a huge surge in domestic violence/abuse cases

Because when it stops “sitting well” with people, you end up with riots.

LINK

It is already happening in some areas in Southern Italy, and Italy is one of the worst hit countries.

If people here run out of money, food, and lose services, the fact that it doesn’t even look bad in many areas will result in people rioting, protesting, and raiding.

It is as if everyone is only hyper-focused on only one aspect of this whole ordeal.

When the fear of poverty overcomes the fear of the virus, we will be in big trouble, especially in large cities.

In September? I would certainly hope so. If this is still going on in September we’ll have a LOT more to worry about that football games.
