I think heat and humidity are going to seriously weaken this virus. I know they don't "kill" it as the virus wouldn't be able to survive in our bodies otherwise, but summer weather will hopefully crash it's ability to transmit and infect.
That's typical for these types of viruses. Plus, I've looked at some of the (admittedly flawed) data from tropical countries and the contagion seems pretty minimal, much lower than you would expect given the circumstances. Why is a country like Switzerland getting hammered while Bangladesh, who has a completely corrupt and ineffective government and 175 million people stacked on top of each other like squalid mongrel dogs barely registering a blip a month after their first confirmed cases?
Heat + herd immunity + better treatemnt derived from the 100s of thousands of medical case studies we now have to pour through + more draconian isolation for those in the highest risk groups (nursing homes, cancer patients, etc) = we will be back to normal in a few months.

It's not ideal, for sure, but you can't fix COVID by rushing this is if it's not the right time. If we have it under control, by all means.
There is a point where our supposed “cure” becomes worse than the infection.
If we don’t begin some form of economic movement this month, I don’t see how we avoid that.

What does it matter if it "sits well" with people?
Picture, if you will, the scene in Hong Kong when the government's actions did not "sit well" with the populace. Now imagine a similar scene with over half those protesters legally carrying firearms. We should hope and pray it does not come to that.

All you can do is follow the data, see how this virus responds, adjust your tactics and hope for the best.

I think the NFL will potentially start on time, yes. But to say that they will play in front of fans is extremely optimistic.
Having 100,000 people together only a few months after 10 people not being allowed to be together in public. I hope Im wrong, I really do. Im just not convinced at all that will happen tho

If you’re right you probably won’t have to worry about money because it won’t be worth anything.

Dr. Fauci's advice
The man is useful for medical advice.
He has no concept of damage outside of his narrow scope of specialty.
There is a reason why highly specialized in one area people should not be the point men for broad concept situations.

You can cut short the college basketball and NBA seasons and people would be pissed.
No Hockey.....no worries
Baseball starts late....not good but bareable
Screw with college football and the NFL, now you are talking about repression that will not stand.....

Teddy Roosevelt threw out the first pitch at the 1931 Super Bowl to show everyone the German flu outbreak was over. Got up out of his wheelchair to do it.
