Progressives don’t care about Pandora’s box. This indictment is potentially a double win for them. They want him to be the nominee because he is the most bearable candidate. Then when he loses they will actually throw him in jail because there is nothing that can be done about it.
Then they will use any retaliation as an excuse to implement totalitarian measures.
James Lindsay had a twitter thread about it the other day. The entire goal isn’t the Trump indictment itself, it is to elicit a reaction. Saul Alinsky’s exact quote in Rules for Radicals is “The real action is in the enemy’s reaction.”
