I mean, he's President and we're potentially entering a crisis. Seems he should be there. Maybe that's expecting too much from a POTUS?

I can understand this, but if he sent the guy who has the best chance of working together with Pelosi to find a solution, and Trump signs, what is there to complain about? Do you think he's not involved at all or something?

It's amazing in our "strongest economy ever" we can be reduced to Venezuela, our shelves lacking many items, so quickly.

It is an absolute fact that this is our nation’s strongest economy ever. The market =\= the economy. You are a victim of Operation Mockingbird.

What a socialist thing to say. So my hard earned money is the same thing as government money? You go ahead and pay extra taxes if you want.

Unless you cut spending it’s meaningless. You just make your kids pay for it instead of you because your money is hard earned but theirs isn’t. Reducing taxes without cutting spending is fiscally irresponsible and running up the credit card for your kids to pick up, sounds great.

I'm all for this but the situation isn't gonna bring back demand anytime soon if cases keep spreading and they will. Just because you have an extra 500 bucks in your pocket doesn't mean that you are gonna go out and do things. People gonna save instead of spending. Cause sick people don't go to the movies or to concerts or to political conventions.

I wonder if those who criticized Obama for an economic stimulus change their tune

why does this have 20 upvotes? A payroll tax cut is not the same thing as a stimulus package.

Cutting taxes for working people is the not the same as printing more money to bail out big banks

Good. SSec should be done away with in general.

I agree. But they need to refund me every penny I’ve paid into it.

Dont really see the point of this if I have to pay everything back next April. Just going to suck for people who don't know how to save.

The frick we don't. In fact we have to pay twice the amount w-2 workers pay.

BTW, no way that evil bitch would allow this to pass the house.

Obama did more than one temporary measure. Cash for clunkers was an unnecessary socialist program.

It's a payroll tax cut, not a federal income tax cut. You won't have to pay anything back. You'll still have federal income tax withheld.
