I just realized they were still making episodes. That's a hell of a run. I mean you saw everything you were ever going to see in the first episode, and they've made 15 seasons so far out of it.

This is all that Bruce Mitchell basically does anymore other than run his gator farm. Hunt Gators for the show and travels around the country making appearances at outdoor shows, tradeshows and being a spokesman for Liberty Overalls, Blackstone Griddles among many other products.

Alligators are overpopulated.

Should be even less restrictions on hunting

I have been screaming this for years. No idea why they don't make the season longer, open it to anyone and even have a spring season.

There are gators in Lake Pontchartrain everywhere you look. At least in my neighborhood. Also in that area are kids, dogs and people who don’t look where they are going. A recipe for disaster. And yet we were just reminded that it is illegal to do anything about it.

Yes they are. I have known him most of my life, him and my brother went through school together. He is the same guy you see on tv and in the videos just a good ole Ponchatoula Baw.

I found it interesting that the first season Bruce was on there was the only season they focused on their gator farm. After that they didn't even mention it. I figure it was a kind of conflict of interest given the competition between farm raised gators and wild hunted gators.

He had permission. Wrong tag! Show me the man, I’ll show you the crime!

There is at least one alligator for every person in Louisiana according to the fine folks at Insta-Gator Ranch.

Because we are running out of alligators in South Louisiana?

Yup. We really need to go back and look at the hunting regs on alligators. They’re not necessary anymore.

The tags are now done by bidding not a lottery,
You only get the tags you pay for he was probably trying to get a free gator a day especially if he is working w/ the processor.

ETA: The show was Filthy Riches

I was under contract to do that show but then it was canceled. We had shot a pilot and everything. They were short handed and my 15 year old got to operate a boom mic.

The producer wore Prada sunglasses...and was terrified of wildlife. She directed through the cracked window of a car lol

Oh No! He killed two alligators he didn't want to use tags for.. How will the alligator infested bayous ever recover? They really need to give out more tags. But the people running swamp tours prefer to have them overpopulated so they can make sure people who go on their tours see a few of them.

You know what a lot of these gator hunters do with the skin? A lot of that shite gets thrown away. There are some strict rules behind using gator skin in fashion and I think the fashion companies have to get the permit, which is expensive then they have to work under someone who hunts them, but it involves a lot of bullshite that its not even worth the hunters to deal with.

Just something a learned awhile back.

I bet we know each other tgrbaitn08. I spoke to the guy who made the call as well. He had no idea whose line it was, just knew they weren't supposed to be there.

Anyone who has been alligator hunting knows its nothing like the show. The tags are supposed to be used on the property they are issued for - that was Troy's issue. Lots of little ones get cut loose and I'm sure die. Other alligators, crawfish and crabs got to eat too. And they are way overpopulated.

I actually liked that show. The worm fiddlers/hunters or whatever were cool, and the guys who cut and sold burl wood were good. They had a lot more variety than Swamp People.
