i drive down frenchtown on the way home from work every day and the amount of water i've seen in the lower areas after a couple inches of rain is kinda scary. post flood i'm talking about
I lived in Woodstock during the August flood. We left by boat but luckily didn't flood. Water was to the thresholds of the doors and had about 3" in the garage. We built off of Core Lane on the other side of Central and sold that house. I keep telling my wife every time it rains the water drains slower and slower. We are in a flood zone and had to build up about 3 1/2 feet and I thought it was overkill at the time. Now I'm kinda glad we did because it gives me peace of mind when these types of rains come. Good luck to you guys on that side of town.

Latest 12z Euro total precip outlook indicates a 8-15" bulls-eye from the Northshore to Gulfport. Every movement to the west for Cindy slides that rain slot to the west that much more.

off frenchtown. loved there since '02 and august was the first time it even threatened to flood. of course after almost 6' in the house, any big rain has me concerned
Frenchtown used to get high water well before 02. I lived in central until 2006 and had friends on that road.
Central was always a high risk area bc of the comite.

Just got back from Walmart Neighborhood on Coursey
I was in there at 11, I have never seen it that full.
Usually 4 or 5 cars in the parking lot when I go.

there's been hurricane force winds reported in the Gulf
The anemometer is probably about 200 hundred feet above the water surface but Green Canyon 338 is definitely rampin' up...

oh yea frenchtown has always gotten high water. but it used to take more rain to get it up and it used to drain alot faster.
comite? the amite combined with the comite is where the risk comes from

I think it's going to be a hurricane by the time it hits land. How much shear is it dealing with?
