The lack of follow-up or interest in the other day's storm from NWS New Orleans leaves us with only being able to state that those storms were sub-severe.
There was a peak wind gust of 56 mph at the airport. It takes 60 mph winds to be severe. If that is the case, sub-severe winds shouldn't cause that sort of damage.
I'm not saying that there weren't higher winds. I believe there were, and it irks me that there has been so little interest from NWS NOLA in trying to verify those winds.
