Still no power and it’s predicted 10pm tomorrow. Glad I invested in that standby unit after Ida because it’ll be a while - the culprit is a pine limb that fell by the Arboretum. Broke the lines off a pole but didn’t break them luckily. So they’ll have to evaluate the lines and see if they have to set a new pole.
Even at night that shouldn’t take more than 4 to 6 hours to fix with several trucks, it damn sure shouldn’t take 24 hours. Most of the time connecting a power line back together that was snapped because something fell on it doesn’t take that long, especially compared to putting in a new pole which still shouldn’t take 8 hours much less 24 hours.

Here in Broadmoor a block away from the high school entergy came out about 10 PM and replaced a transformer in the corner of my back yard. They got everything put together and then they left, still no power.
After Ida it appeared that entergy was planning to upgrade their electrical infrastructure. After last night's rough thunderstorm it appears that entergy is still not prepared for storms. Not a good look for entergy and they are still charging us a storm restoration fee.
At 6 AM August 1st Broadmoor is still in the dark from a thunderstorm that took place the previous day at 5 PM.

We’re you able to get any sleep with no AC?

bullshite and Entergy should tie into the buried lines from Perkins Rd area
I asked this question to an Entergy rep back in 2021 after Ida came through. I asked them if the circuits can be made “double-ended” in the neighborhood, meaning it has two separate feeders that can be switched. I was informed that the primary voltages are different, meaning all the transformers in the neighborhood would need to be changed on the old circuit. The two good circuits in the neighborhood are fed from the substation behind the mall movie theater. The older circuit is fed from either the substation at Pecue and the railroad tracks or the substation by Lauberge, depending on which switch they have closed.

I’ve found that with Oak Hills, the amount of homes without power is low enough to where it’s not a high priority. Entergy will focus efforts on getting as many people restored as quickly as it can. So that just makes us the last ones on the list.
Power was restored at 1:48am last night. Haven’t had a chance to drive by the tree and see what the repair looks like but if they have to set a new pole they may have turned it on for now until they can do that. Will have to go out there and see.

You need yourself a percolator and a Coleman stove, baw. Or at least a propane grill with a side burner. Under no circumstances should you be going without coffee. Arrangements for it should be made in your survival kit.
