No lie there was a family of five and they each had the flatbed carts and were filling them up. I thought maybe they had a business or something there were buying for but I doubt it because it was all random shite.

Of course, they couldn't all get on an elevator at the same time without exceeding the weight limit so maybe them starving from a virus would be beneficial.

I did have a nice convo with a pissed of old man, though. He was steady cussing about the morons.

Congratulations. You've become an angry old man.

To be fair, I'm getting there myself.

Why toilet paper?

Why is that the hot item? Did producers stop making it?

I’m telling y’all, hit up the DG(dollar general) in little country towns. I stopped by one today they had any and every kind of tp imaginable. Only thing they didn’t have is hand sanitizer. I asked the gal working there if this corona virus thing has impacted them and she said “what?”

I went today with the wife to get some stuff for church Sunday and holy smokes. It was something I have never seen. The look of panic in the eyes of shoppers was unreal. They were buying up anything they could get their hands on.

We walked down the cleaner isles just to see what was left and it was all gone. Bottled water almost all gone.

Talked to some folks and evidently they think Trump is going to initiate martial law and lock everybody in their house for 2-3 weeks.

I just laughed and walked off.

We’re on our way to panicking ourselves into deep shite.

Or into deep supplies of shite paper anyway.

I can understand the hand sanitizer and water, but I have never understood the toilet paper.

I wonder who planted that seed in everyone's head.

I have been through hurricanes, floods, etc and have seen stores not have one 16 ounce bottle of water, not one piece of bread including hot dog and hamburger buns and not one bag of chips.

This is the first time the first thing that disappears is toilet paper? Seems weird to me.

Only thing I can think is that they’ve heard there’s been a run on TP, decide they need some since everyone else is buying it and load up.

But yeah, don’t know why it’s become such a commodity

I would also bet that is exactly what happened. It just doesn't make sense otherwise. Even the manufactures know that once the crisis is over they won't sell any TP for a very long time. If it was there decision they would rather spread the sales out over 12 months like normal.

We buy the large packs of TP because it is cheaper in bulk. It was probably a couple months ago when we bought some and we have AT LEAST a couple months worth left. I won't be buying TP in the near future. Panic or no panic.

What was the status on Jarlsberg cheese? Thinking about a cheese tray for tomorrow night.

IDGAF about the TP shortage. I’ve got cases full of paper towels, and I’ll borrow industrial rolls from work if things get shitty.

Humans are still pack animals and herd mentality reigns.

Once a few people see others buying toilet paper, they think they need to, and that sets off a snowball effect.

The cashier said they have had arguments over TP and are 100% out. They have a shipment arriving tomorrow and will have extra staff as security on hand.

Security...over TP

Ridiculous.

Anyone buying more than 2 packages of TP should be shot in the face as soon as they exit the store, with a scud missile.
