The fact the fricktard was told 15 times to leave and said multiple times "touch me and find out" = not "sudden passion"

Kind of insane it escalated to this. I ran track in high school. We used to hang out in other teams tents all the time. Sometimes a coach would tell us to leave, and that was that.
Even if from Karmelo's angle, he felt that Austin had zero authority to tell him to leave because Austin is not a coach. Ok sure, It should have just ended up in a shoving match or a regular ole fight. Which isn't necessarily good. But teenage boys get into fights all the time. That's normal stuff.

But bringing out a knife is absolute not normal. There were zero reason at all for the knife to be pulled. Karmelo thought that he could teach someone a lesson for annoying him. That's murder.

For the life of me, I can't figure out how this case was ever controversial.

I disagree, they're giving him money for his defense fund per the give send go at the detriment of Austin who was killed.

Yea, no. The money donated to the killer's family isn't to the Metcalf's detriment.

Let’s hope this young man gets the assistance he needs in Huntsville. A hearty breakfast and a robust math program would be a start.

Judge John Roach was informed that the state agreed to the addition of "sudden passion" as the jury continues with the sentencing phase, meaning that the defense can argue that the murder was committed when the defendant was in an intense emotional state triggered by immediate provocation from the victim.

I don't think the jury is going to buy sudden passion. What provocation did Austin engage in the was presented as evidence in the trail? I

The B*tch with five boys got her fingernails sharpened, just to holler on camera? Her nails could gouge out some innocents' eyes.

I'm already sick of hearing about this today.

As a white guy if i say he should have been guilty then i'm bias/tone deaf. If I say that he didn't get fair treatment because he is black then i'm denying the facts.

I believe that black Americans historically and even today face a different reality than whites in our justice system but I also believe this wasn't the case this time.

This 'expert' on courtTV. "This is dumb, he only stabbed and killed him with a 4 inch knife. Was it wrong? Yes! Was it murder, no." WTF does this expert think murder is?!

Having a knife on him in the first place is suspect and considered criminal activity on a school campus. Much less going to another tent to start a fight and then stabbing someone. It’s insane we ever had any doubt of how this trial would go. Metcalf’s family should sue the pants off Karmelo’s parents since both were minors

The timeline is an all timer here

-black kid brings knife to a track meet and kills white kid
-family grifts off of BLM and brings in $500k+ from a gofundme
-family blows the money on a new house and escalade
-can’t afford to hire a real attorney after blowing said money
-kid gets convicted of murder

Shite literally reads like a South Park episode 10 years ago

Obviously you haven't dealt with adolescent boys in a group situation.

Yes only 30+ years of experience with my daily job and 3 sons(all their friends), lol. You are 100% wrong and getting dragged for it. Even if you are partially correct(you aren’t) the use of force wasn’t proportional. A shove doesn’t equal deadly force. That’s why he was convicted. Plus he escalated it by refusing to leave the tent.

If the jury was that quick to convict him, I see no reason why they don't go hard in the paint in the sentencing. They were gasping when it was suggesting he impaled himself and some were crying when they were showed pics of the gaping hole in his chest.. They aren't going to go light with sentencing

The jury saw more than that... they saw the slit the knife put in Metcalf's heart

The M.E. showed the jury pictures of Metcalf's heart after it was pulled from his body during the autopsy and the knife wound to the heart

The most chilling testimony was 1 of the coaches who was trying to help resuscitate Metcalf... he was an Iraq War vet... and recognized when Metcalf did the "death rattle"

You’re right. They’re treated way more leniently.
