Court TV link
Nothing inside the court room, but they are covering live from outside.

They just said if it is a conviction, they'll move straight to sentencing since it's early enough. Karmelo apparently opted for the jury to decide his sentence rather than a judge

You see regression, they see “progress” and will advocate for your death if you don’t capitulate.

A lot of the dumbest people in the world are standing outside of that courthouse

I turned it off after seeming certain folks dancing around and jumping like fools (Fox news). Disgusting it’s come to this. I’ll check back to see verdict.

How long do we figure it will be until it is announced?

While I guess I could understand the general principle of what the law professor is trying to say, her ultimate conclusion is essentially that only a black person can determine what constitutes a standard of reasonableness for another black person which, in effect, suggest there should be different OBJECTIVE standards of reasonableness based strictly upon race. MAYBE this position may have bearing if there was any objective evidence that Metcalf's actions were racially motivated. That is a black kid could have a greater fear of serious bodily harm when confronted by a white person or group of white people strictly out of clear racial prejudice as opposed to a white kid confronted by other white kids. However, other than pure conjecture contrived by those who were not called as witnesses, no one has testified Metcalf's actions in confronting Anthony were racially motivated. This includes testifying witnesses who are also black. Moreover, such analysis is more subjective than objective.
So, at its most innocent, what she is suggesting is non-black jurors are incapable of assessing the objective reasonableness of Anthony's actions because they are incapable of considering race in their analysis...even if there is NO evidence that Meltcalf's motivation for confronting Anthony was based on race. But what she is really suggesting, even if unwittingly, is that black people have different standards of OBJECTIVE reasonableness than other races in society.

On both sides. Nothing of substance just yelling general condescending talking points. Dude yelling about how a system is messed up for arresting someone killing another person is messed up.

There are levels and these people are at the very bottom of the ladder.

Yea I didn't specify but in defense of the side for Austin, at least they aren't purely basing their support on race, despite the kid clearly being a murderer
Just pure tribalism.

I’m watching live coverage from Dallas fox 4 and the condescending to pretend this is some legitimate self defense case is insulting. On the defense calling next to no witnesses “some times less is more.”
The soft bigotry of low expectations at work.

If I actually knew what it was, I would probably call that gaslighting.
