He can't get the chair. Something about he's 17 or was at the time of the murder.

The next witness called to the stand was a 17-year-old rising senior whose father was recently murdered in California. He is a running back on the Memorial High School football team and was a member of the track team.

He told jurors that Metcalf was his team captain in football and was a leader. He described him as "someone who believed in him."

This witness again walked through the events that happened step by step. He testified that he was putting on his shorts when he saw Metcalf talking to Anthony. He described Metcalf asking Anthony who he was and said Anthony "was trying to provoke him."

The witness testified that Metcalf said something to the effect of, "Dude, I’m not gonna fight you at a track meet."

"Did you think a fight was going to happen?" the prosecutor asked.

"No, because Austin said, ‘I’m not going to fight you at the track meet.’ Those were his exact words," the 17-year-old witness said.

Like the student witnesses before him, the teen said Anthony was the aggressor, and it did not appear to be an act of self-defense.

He said he had the impression that Anthony was trying to "blend in with the crowd" after the stabbing.

Anthony and his fans are evil people. Im not celebrating anything until that verdict is read. I have a weird feeling he's gonna get off. Just takes 1 and Frisco has tons of the Harris white women that would love to prove a point.

That would be really crappy to give a murderer a walk. They let him go and they’ll see him in trouble again soon.

Reading X comments from black twitter, they really think the he be disrespek route is a guaranteed winner. No doubt these people will react rationally following this kid's conviction.

I mean he did it and said he did. Surely he will get some prison time. These folks who kill bc of “disrespect” are a problem and need to be handled as such.

All it takes is one to think there’s reasonable doubt he brought the knife to use on him and wasn’t fearing for his life for him to get off. It’s not as cut and dry as people think.

He testified that several teammates told Anthony, "You probably shouldn't be here. You need ot leave our tent." He said it became more aggressive. Anthony told Metcalf, "Touch me and find out." The student said no one tried to gang up or mob Anthony. He described it as "minor pushing at most."

The student told jurors that both Anthony and Metcalf were angry and aggressive. They originally calmly asked him to leave and as Anthony didn't, the situation got more aggressive.

"Who was provoking?" prosecutors asked.

"Karmelo Anthony," he replied.

So basically, a situation I've witnessed playout hundreds, perhaps thousands, of times in my career - gotcha.

So the fact he stabbed someone and killed them means nothing? There should be some prison time. There’s no way the jury can say not guilty when he clearly did do it.

Does not matter for murder as a first degree felony in Texas. It is a different charge than what most people view a 1st degree Murder charge which is closer to Capital Murder in Texas.

2 applicable parts of the murder statute
quote:

(b) A person commits an offense if the person:
(1) intentionally or knowingly causes the death of an individual;
(2) intends to cause serious bodily injury and commits an act clearly dangerous to human life that causes the death of an individual;

A not guilty would have to be purely about someone just supporting a black perp over a white victim.

I don’t think they can play the race card enough to get an acquittal, and unless the judge is a lame duck I can’t see him dismissing case over a hung jury mistrial. I am not sure he can even if a lame duck. DA will prosecute again but may be more open to a lesser plea.

Oh yeah, I know who you're talking about- he's all up in X spouting absolute BS garbage.

There's a couple of good accounts of people that were actually let in keeping up with the details- you've probably already seen them- good stuff.

From what I can tell, KA's goose is cooked.
