New York Post
quote:

Karmelo Anthony, the Texas student athlete who was charged with stabbing a football star from a rival high school to death — and then raised $600,000 in donations, is set to face trial this week
But what came next turned the case into a national sensation. The suspect, Anthony, retained a big-name Dallas lawyer, and the family started raising money from donation site GiveSendGo.

A family spokesman said last year that the money would go to “Stand with us in the fight against white supremacy.”

The case kicked off a major racial fracas online — with donations pouring in to defend Anthony, who is black.

Jury selection starts today, anyone know if the trial going to be live streamed?

It sort of feels like this case will have huge ramifications on future crimes like this.

IIRC, this kid straight up murdered the other kid, and then there was a claim that the victim said "something racist." Well, even if we assume that is true (which I don't believe there was any evidence that it is)...that doesn't give someone carte blanche to fricking murder someone else. But if this case happens and this kid doesn't get convicted of murder, something tells me we're gonna see even more bullshite like this since there are magic words that allow people to do whatever the frick they want to.

I am also interested to see if there is any more evidence that comes to light rather than just he said/she said type accusatory stuff.

Let’s say the deceased actually did say something racist. It still doesn’t justify using deadly force. That shouldn’t be an argument in the first place.

Hopefully not, for the sake of justice. The defense is already trying to make this a race shite show instead of the kid rifling through other people’s belongings trying to steal stuff.

Anyone with 2 grams of common sense can see what a cut and dried murder this was. No doubt who did it. Makes me long for an earlier time, a tall tree and a short rope

I’m gonna try to avoid daily update on this. I live in Frisco and I get too upset when I see people defending Anthony

His defense pled not guilty and wouldn’t even listen to a plea deal which makes me nervous. In today’s world and Frisco is very diverse, it just takes 1 to say not guilty and I’m afraid they will.

Id say 60/40 he’s found not guilty which is a joke

The only hope is the state has more video than they’re leading on.

Obviously.

But I'm not sure I trust the judicial system to get it right anymore though. At least it's in Texas I guess.

They'll most likely name a park or a street after the killer. I mean, with all that hate going toward him just for killing a white kid. It's those damn white supremacists who are ruining this country and making it hard for us poor black folks.
